9mm NOSLER Defense 124gr B JHP +P Review
Hello
Most of the 9mm reviews that I did were shot with two guns.
A SIG 365 SAS, with a 3.1 inch barrel and a Taurus G3 with a 4 inch barrel.
First I do forensic exam of the ammunition. Next I shoot a group while chronographing with each gun. 10 yards with the SIG, three rounds and 15 yards with the G3, five rounds. Chronograph is a Oehler 35P
Then the ammunition is shot out of each gun into a 55 gallon plastic barrel of water. The bullets are then recovered, photographed and then measured for expansion. In cases where the bullet fragments and loses its jacket, a weight is taken with all the recovered material and also a weight taken with just the lead core.
Here is the link to all the photos of the review;

Data Sheet
This is some pleasant shooting ammunition. It is branded as +P but there isn't anything +P about it. The advertised velocity is 1200 fps, but these two guns yielded nothing close to that. The bullet is bonded and there was no jacket separations but there was quite a bit of fragmentation. Expansion adequate and accuracy good. Pricing on-line for this. ammunition varied from around $1.15 to $2.00 per round. Watch the shipping costs.

Please explain why you seem to prefer ammunition reviews for your G3 from a Taurus sight you frequent...?

Thanks for the work. It is always good to see test of ammunition in real world guns instead of the generic provided information from manufacturers.

What does this question have to do with the ammo test he did? He just stated what the test equipment was.

Hi.. I did a few over there, but they didn't generate much interest. It seems there is more life over here.. I may go back and try again.. There was a 10mm site, now de funked, that had a section devoted to 'pull downs' for 10mm ammo and other calibers. That's where this format came from. Too bad the site is gone, that was fun.

I notice Nosler does not list what barrel length for the 1200 FPS result.

Carry on, young man.
I did a lot of test with bullets and powder, for the site
but stopped giving out brands of the pistols or revolvers used,
from all the lip service, that I received.
If it goes "Bang" and does not fall apart,
it most be some what safe ?
