I've had a brick of CCI SV on backorder at Cabelas since June 6. Got a e-mail from them asking if I still wanted to be on the list. Went to Cabelas today and to my surprise found several bricks of Wolf MT, bought two, but no CCI SV. Things must be lookin up.

I still see plenty of .40, 9mm, and .22 bulk, in my area. I don't see any .45 acp, .38, or .357 mag.

Our Meijers had Winchester 100 round value packs of 9mm for $25.99 and 45ACP for $46.99. Most handgun ammo in stock except .380 and no .22 of any flavor. Pretty good selection of hunting rifle ammo but only a couple of small boxes of .223.

As long as I have the local gunstore/range owner cleaning the shelves we will continue to have an ammo shortage in our area. The employees are wise to what he is doing but he sends his employees and his wife in to buy everyday. Seen his wife there myself. His prices are crazy: 49.95 for UMC green box .45 and 51.95 for WWB val pack 9mm. It will be a cycle that will take a long time to end. Once ammo hits the shelves those that have not been able to get "enough" will snatch it up.

I have always been able to get ammo at Carter's Country, but now the prices have come down again and even Wal-Mart has even fully restocked in popular rounds. The drought is over.

I saw Federal .380 in fifty round boxes for $21 today. That's the cheapest I have seen in a long time.

Here in San Diego (little sleepy navy town on the west coast)
At Wally World, the shelves are almost always empty of the popular revolver / pistol calibers. Same with 12ga. 00 buck, slug, 223 / 5.56, etc. When it does come in, it's gone within minutes. They've raise their prices but still if you can ever find it, they're the cheapest in town.
For the most part, the local FFL's are stocked but the prices are thru the roof! Supply might catch up someday, but cheap ammo is gone forever! IMHO

Ammo Shortages in our local areas...
Sgt Preston here. I stopped by 2 local WalMarts last week to pick up some 30-30's. One store had none at all, the other store had 2 (20 round boxes) of Remingtons & 1 box of Winchester. The handgun ammo shelves in both stores were empty. Our 2 local indoor pistol ranges have had a lot of trouble buying enough ammo to keep their doors open. As a result of the shortage, both have changed their policies & will not sell "carryout" ammo that will NOT be shot there. Sgt Preston USMC LLA

Not much in local WM the past three weeks. I did get one box of target .38 SPL last week and yesterday found a 100 pack of .357 and one of .38 +P. Low supplies of .40, .45 ACP, .357 sig. A couple of the stores had good stocks of .45 Cowboy loads. I saw a box of .380 yesterday. Plenty of shot shells and some rifle calibers.
Cabela's has lots of ammo in various calibers, but not much target in the handguns. High priced ammo supplies are picking up, but the low end either isn't there or is sold quickly.
