Has anyone actually shot Hornady 110 gr. Critical Defense ammo in a Ti Cyl. J-frame?
Please post results if you have. Thanks in advance!

I tested the .380. Typical Hornady hype and nothing to write home about IMO. If I were to run 110 +Ps, or any for that matter, I'd use Corbon DPX and never look back.

None, accurate. Chronographed an average 925 fps from my 60-7 and my son's 342 Ti. The .380 only does about 725 from our Seecamps.

I've not seen gelatin tests to decide if it's an adequate penetrator. I would suspect that it would compare to the 110 grain W-W Silvertip (standard pressure) that was tested by the FBI in '91 (albeit in a 4").

There was an article in one of the gun magazines recently testing this ammo (90 gr .380 and 110 gr (not +p) .38 Special) at seven yards through four layers of denim into a gelatin block. The guns used were a Kahr .380 with 2.375 inch barrel and a Taurus .38 revolver with 2.125 inch barrel. Pentration was around 12 inches for both with measured velocity of around 780 fpm for the .380 and around 940 fpm for the .38 special. Expansion was around 23 pct for the .380 and around 30 pct for the .38 special.

I have shot just a few rounds of it through a 342. Mild recoil and no ill effects on the gun, cylinder, or shooter. I am unaware of any shootings with this round, and have seen mixed testing results online.
I presently carry the 135 Gold Dot, or 110 DPX depending on availability. Recoil is heavier but I have faith these will work well if needed; the Hornady is still too new for me to trust. I am quite interested in the new Winchester 130 PDX-1 round. Recoil is heavier with these but it's not that big of a deal to me.

Hope this isn't a dumb question but. Does the effectiveness drop if shot thru a .357?

Shouldn't make any difference.
