Smells like victory...

I'm a big fan of instructor belts. If you are looking for leather, the Galco is really nice and hard to beat on price. Riggers style belts are very nice also. Ares sets the standard for the Riggers style but they are a little expensive and have a wait.

Instructor belts are my personal favorite because you can really tighten them down easily. I've tried Galco's instructor belt and a few others, but I keep coming back to Uncle Mikes. I never skimp on carry gear, but I just cant find any reason to pay more just for a brand name because the Uncle Mike's instructor belt is great. I also wear my belts out quickly because I make custom kydex holsters. i often try the holsters on and sometimes the belt loops arent finish sanded which eats up the belt quick.

The Uncle Mike's instructor belt has held up great for my heavy uses also. I think its about $25 on midwayusa.com at regular price. If you catch it on sale or use coupons (like I did) you can get it for around $18. Its a really nice nylon belt and has a polymer middle to make it extremely stiff. I've yet to find a belt that is as rigid.

For some folks, the plastic insert means chafed hip bones. The inserts let manufacturers get away with cheaper webbing and/or less stitching.

Great customer service, next day ship option at no extra cost for common choices, several options (though not so many that it slows your decision), quality workmanship, thick, stiff, etc, etc.

It's supposed to be concealed carry and nothing says "gun" louder than a person wearing a belt, whilst in mufti, that looks like it belongs at the range...on a tactical instructor.

I bought one from a leather booth down by the Ag barn at the State Fair. He makes harnesses, etc. for the horsey set and had some terrific thick belt stock. I took my holster for color match and he was more than happy to fit me up. He had several three piece buckle sets to choose from in all price ranges as well as conchos, if that's your thing. Hand made on the spot for $50. He travels all around and said he doesn't get many requests in Ohio but the Tejanos keep him hopping.

I have the 1.25" and 1.5" Wilderness Frequent Flyer belts. The delrin loops make them a bit lighter. The infinite-adjustment is just darned perfect for different thickness pants, ate-too-much today, IWB now, tomorrow OWB, etc.

I also second this. The wilderness 5 stitch is an amazing belt. I unfortunately loaned mine to the wrong person and they were on back order when I needed a new belt.

To the person who thinks instructor belts scream gun, most people who open carry walk through life with many people not even noticing. A black nylon belt will not set off any alarms, especially since non CCWs will not recognize the style. Is it the most fashionable? Thats a different story.... I almost never tuck my shirt in so its no problem. When a tucked shirt is necessary, a Galco leather goes a long way.

I have the instructor and the frequent flyer...I find myself using the standard 3 stitch 1 1/4" flyer much more for IWB...plenty stiff and a bit more comfortable...I only use the instructor with my 1 1/2" holsters OWB.

I own several from Milt Sparks, TT Gunleather and the Beltman. All of them are top notch but I prefer them in the order I listed.

I prefer the belt I have by A and G Custom to my others from Kramer, Milt Sparks, Simply Rugged, and Ted Blocker. I also like the Wilderness standard stitch belt. These belts seem to support heavier weight a little more comfortably for me than the others.

Wild Bill concealment leather makes a rugged good looking belt for a fair price... I did not like the holster i got from them, but the belt is the best I have ever bought

+1 on Uncle Mike's. Order it a size bigger than you think you need.

I have had a belt from The Beltman. I have worn it pretty much every day for the last year and a half and it still looks and works great. It will hold up a full size steel pistol with the buckle un-done.

Works well for me. Seems to have alleviated some discomfort from the heavier gun, and makes no statement at all about what I'm carrying. Wife likes the look. I was wearing it for dress (I often carry in my pocket under everyday circumstances), but I liked it so much I bought another identical one for dress in case I mess this one up wearing it nearly every day.

I've been happy with mine from the Beltman.

Unlike other makers, he has on hand Black belts ready to ship.

If he happens not to have your size ready, Top Gun Supply (one of the few internet companies I really trust) has them, too. IIRC at $70.00.

Only problem is they, the already made ones, are available only in black.

I too have heard that The Beltman's Horse Hide is excellent. However, before I had ever heard of him, I bought a 1 1/4" Horsehide belt from KRAMER about a year ago (along with matching Horsehide Scabbard and ammo pouch) and they are SUPERB! So far I would deem this Kramer rig the best I've found in my 32 years of totin' my Chief's Special. Not cheap, but the best rarely is.

I second these belts, I love mine and have for many years.

Blackhawk makes several casual styled belts with a stiff hidden spline that keeps the belt from rolling. Nice, and available on lots of web sites. Eric

Picked up a Galco belt last week excellent belt, Just make sure you add 2in. for IWB.

Do yourself a favor and check this out. I have a Milt Sparks belt I've had since '01 and a Don Hume since shortly after that. My A&G belt I bought last year is stiffer and just as comfortable.
Al's customer service is the standard all other belt makers should strive for.
