Default "Most concealable" square-butt K frame grips?

I have traded for a 65-2 with a square butt. It currently is wearing Hogue after-market grips, which are very comfortable to handle, but the long tail tends to print pretty easily, or at least that's been my experience with other grips of that type. Can anybody suggest a more concealable grip, i.e. less likely to print, for this gun? Or can I use a holster with more cant to get the current grip more in line with my chubby body? Or both?

Thanks in advance for any info anyone can offer...

Back in the days when all of us coppers were carrying revolvers I used a variety of grips for both uniformed duty and plainclothes use. For the square-butt K-frames one of the best combinations, in my opinion, is the factory magna grips with a Tyler T-grip adaptor.

The magnas were made with both a square-cut bottom and with a rounded bottom. The rounded bottom is preferable for concealed carry.

This would be my approach unless I felt like ponying up a chunk of money for custom grips.

I sometimes CCW a Model 15-3 with 4" barrel and square butt. My preferred grip for all around use is the magna/T-grip combo. I also have a set of Uncle Mike rubber boot grips which are very slim and no longer than the square grip frame. They work great, but have been discontinued....they do show up on ebay or here from time to time.

Default Uncle Mikes conceal better

I have Uncle Mikes on two Model 10s. One is a round butt and the other square. They aren't made any longer so they can be hard to find. For the square butt gun I had to modify a round to square conversion grip but that is not too hard to do. The advantage of the Uncle Mikes over the magna is that it is thinner and the edges are rounded instead of sharp.

Big ditto on Uncle Mike's Boot Grips. My square butt 2.5" K frame is laying on this computer desk right now wearing them. As said, the round butt is the best for CCW, but if a square butt is all that is available, go for the UMBGs. .......... Big Cholla

Has anybody tried Eagle's Secret Service grips?

It also appears that it is possible to get wood boot grips from Craig Spegel, whose grips seem to have been the model for the Uncle Mike's rubber grips.

I've got Ahrends on my round butt Mt. Gun. I like them a lot. I've looked at the square butt ones on the 'Net, and I'm wondering how they'll conceal...

The Uncle Mikes rubber boot grips are great if you can find them; the wood Spegels are great if you are willing to wait several months for Mr. Spegel to finish them. They are particularly good for folks with small hands.

If you have somewhat larger hands, Don Collins makes boot grips that are just as concealable, but are somewhat thicker than the Spegel grips.

samwood just happened to have a set of Collins "fancy walnut" K-frame boot grips that didn't fit his hand. I found out tonight that they fit my hand like a glove, and they look fantastic.

Thanks, samwood!

Ahrends makes a couple grips that might help.

Maybe the comfiest K-frame grips I have started off as a set of factory targets I took off a 586. They had a big chip out of the bottom edge. As a rule, I hate the shape and size of factory targets so I took the power sander to these, thinning out and rounding off the bottom, and smoothing the checkering a bit.

Now they feel great and I suspect the round edges would print a lot less than the originals.

What is the uncle mike's model number for the SB k-frame boot grips?
And I don't think so, but did they ever make SB j-frame boots?
