Here's one more that I really like. For the record, I fall in on the side that would not put a sign in his yard. That said, I doubt it would be much of an issue in a state as gun friendly (and criminal adverse) as Idaho.

Well I would never put a sign in my yard, I guess the SIG & IDPA,NRA, stickers on my car and house window, would give it away, One thing a few people in town do "Open" carry on there property, I won't. I don't like to brodcast the fact I am armed, and that I'm raking my yard with a XD .45 under my shirt, I want to play Stupid to a Dirtbag until he "Push's his Luck" (by Law) then he will see my "Point"...not letting him show up with a gun, knowing that I am too...Is not good..

If you have a sign on your truck or car and are going out and about the boys in blue or brown also look for the Bad gun and it just gives another reason to git stoped and or herassted and being on the cold ground just don't impress me a bit. BiggerHammer

The cops I know don't harrass you for being armed unless you're a criminal.

Never would have that happen in this area. We expect every vehice to have a firearm in it and many people routinely carry openly and many more carry concealed.

There are 28 people working in my office. Six are armed 100% of the time. There are guns in at least 24 of their vehicles. Four are gun collectors. It is not much different from any other work place in the area.

Police here are shocked if they do not find a gun. People are not bothered by officers stopping them for carrying. A person can wear a sidearm and go into any place they want other than bars, churches, government buildings or a Circle K without a problem.

As for myself I would rather not let the dirt bags in the area know what I have or don't have. Let them be suprised if they choose to gain enrty forcefully and learn the lesson the hard way.

No doubt about that. Only issue is they are the most anti gun company I know of. Guns are banned in every store, in every state.

When I lived in california about 20 years ago I knew the owner of a circle K down the street. He shot a black guy that he "thought" had a gun but it turned out he didnt. He went to jail for I dont know how long, plus it cost him his marrage. I talked to him while he was out and waiting for court date and heard his side, however they must have had more on him than he told me.

Wow I didn't know that. I live 150 feet from a Circle K and most of the people that work there know me well enough to know that I'm armed when I'm in there and no one has mentioned the ban to me. I'll be sure not to bring it up though.

I like the signs as a matter of humor. but seriously, if you have one and you shoot someone, the bleeding hearts will assume you wanted to kill or shoot and they will use Your sign as evidence of your whacked out sense of justice, your evil conservative values and your willingness to kill without regard to human suffering....I opt not to display those signs. I have a "Come take it" T-shirt featuring an AR 15 and I wear it in my back yard but not in public because if I have to shoot I dont want some good citizen to say, Ah HA he wanted to kill when there was no need.

Strato, there is a lot on the internet about Southland Corp promoting and funding anti gun groups and buy back programs.

Also, on the front of every store, somewhere on their windows nest to the doors will be a sign saying no guns allowed.

As near as I can tell, the Southland Corp is the leader in anti gun businesses.

Just for kicks, google Circle K anti gun and see how many hits you get.

Oldman45, I grew up with a 7/11 on every corner and they were owned by Southland Corp. Is Circle K one in the same with the old 7/11 chain? Given the **** that they sell they have a lot of nerve banning guns as being dangerous. Eat there a couple of times a week and see how long you live.

It's really hard to understand the mentality of some people who think that disarming the good guys can somehow make them safer from the bad guys who can never be disarmed. too many corporations in this country that are just plain un-american.

Yes, the Southland Corp owned the former 7/11 stores and many other chain convenience stores. Circle K is their more well know chain at this time but not their only venture.

In the last three months, TSC has sponsored gun buy back programs in four states that I know of. One in Baton Rouge was set up to be held at churches and the people getting rid of their guns were given certificates for gasoline at Circle K stores.

Technically the guy buy back programs disarm the good guys. Here is how it works.

1. Good guy works hard, pays taxes, saves his money and buys a nice handgun made of real metal, not plastic and in a proper caliber.

2. Bad guy sits around waiting for his government check, using drugs, drinking beer, playing dominoes and hears about gun buy back offering money or gasoline.

3. Bad guy sees good guy leaving your home and since he has a lot of spare time, he breaks into good guy's home. He finds a flat screen tv set and a really nice gun. The tv set does not have a serial number on it that would matter to any of his firends so he sells it to his cousin for $50. The gun is very traceable. But since it did not cost him anything, he turns it in to the gun buy back program for $50 in gasoline. After all, there is no serial number or background check done on those guns or people turning in guns. They do not even ask for identification.

4. Bad guy makes $100 for a couple hours work.

5. Good guy spends $1000 in insurance deduction for theft so he can spend a day trying to replace the things stolen from his house so it can be burglarized again.

Do not laugh, a local area man has had his home robbed six times in the last two months.

Why not just put up a sign saying "I own at least one gun, wait till I'm gone and steal it?"

I am a ADT dealer in Colorado and have personally been in 3000 homes that have been robbed over the last 8 years.

Most people get robbed in the AM when they are at work. So unless you have trained your guns to jump off the shelf and shoot someone? They are not a deterent to a criminal If you can get them to stay put and be shot? By all means thin the herd whenever possible

Guns are one of the most valuable things they can steal!!!!!! So for pete's sake don't advertise the fact that you have them!

There is a breed out there that is not afraid, impressed, imtimidated, etc by you or your guns!!! Which why you have them in the first place! Let them bring a knife to the gunfight

I agree with Feralmerril. It is lot of fun to have the gun signs around, but they may be an advertisement that there may be something inside worth breaking in for. And any good thief would probably watch the comings and goings of the occupants so they weren't home when the crime was committed. I even dislike the idea that I have my long guns on the wall in a rack, seen by most people that enter my house. Not that they are crooks, but loose lips sink ships. "I know a guy that has a really cool S&W ..." to a friend that isn't so trustworthy. If I am wary enough to consider home defense, then I should be smart enough not to advertise my defense tools. Just a thought to consider.

A. If you want to have signs posted in the yard all you have to do is remember to put them away before the police come and pictures are taken. Then there is no evidence you had that sign even posted. Problem solved.

B. Just get a dummy video camera, some wire and a tinted globe and install it high above your front and rear doors (make it look as if its really operational). Put a sticker on the door that says "Smile for the camera, the cops are on the way." Maybe it stops someone from entering, maybe it doesnt but if I saw that sticker and looked up to see a camera facing down, I know I would assume its recording. And with so many affordable Q-see DVR recording cameras for sale, its a realistic threat to a would robber.

I find the second doesn't play out in my line of work. If they know the camera's are attached to an alarm, they work very well. If not? They just wear a hood or mask and you get to watch yourself get robbed over and over, as many times as you care to watch.
