Default Self Defense

Has anyone on this forum been in a situation where you had to use a weapon for self defense? We talk about guns and ammo that we prefer for that task, so has anyone been put to the test yet? Home invasion, charging animal, someone's lunatic pit bull? Let's hear some stories!

There's a separate forum for CCW and self defense threads. Scroll down the list a bit, you'll see it.

Please understand that I did not go to work those nights looking for a fight, they brought it to me. I just lost a lifelong friend who succummed to his wounds 37 years after the fact. While I'm not at all bitter it changes your perspective. If that sounds tough I guess it is.

Seconded, though I'm just a pup at 25 LOL. Speaking of pups, I love Rotts and big breeds... but I'm with attack dogs like Indiana Jones was with snakes.

Glad you made it OC.

dont think your are gonna get any details of killing buddy, its just not smart to make certain comments on the internet, especially about defending yourself. all the guys here know that.

this questions seldom gets asked, when it does, no stories get posted, except by someone who is probably making it up.

if you have been in a situation where life has been taken, its not something you really want to brag about

there is also the legal issue, posting information can bring about crminal charges if the moons lines up right, so MOST guys who ACTUALLY had to do something will not answer this kind of question. or they will keep it short and sweet.

Keep your cents. If you'll notice, there are other circumstances to that question. Also, you'll notice where a more experienced member pointed me in the right direction for the information i seek. Another example of ignorance at work. Also, last time I checked, unless someone was convicted of manslaughter, murder, or what have you, then they wouldnt be posting here. Theyd be in prison. Talking about putting an attacker down may be emotionally difficult, but not illegal. Cops dont get arrested for telling a psychiatrist about an incident involving their weapon. As you see, you two cents are not needed nor appreciated. Good day sir.

Okay, lets not argue about it. When you put thousands of people together from different walks of life, it tends to lead to ethics friction and heated conversation. Your views matter, as do mine. Ill leave it at that.

Your going to find that people on this site is more worried...... about everything, some thing that big brother is going to storm their homes and take them if they post anything. You have better luck asking this question on another gun site.

Yeah, that's probably not going to happen. But, if it makes you feel better, no ones really posting here anyway. Maybe the the thought of "big brother" riding in on their unicorns that the got from sasquatch at the Bermuda triangle terrifies them. Go figure.

you'll find the majority of folk who have seen the elephant to find such questions offensive....my advice is join the Marines or the Army if you really want to know the answer to your questions....then you won't have to ask for stories.

Be kinda hard to do. No one to watch my kids since their moms dead. But, lucky me, I have family who have served this country in Korea, nam, and first Iraq war. My advice to you is to read a few posts up where I found the information from a senior member. Sadly, no one who has posted to this DEAD THREAD with a story has gotten offended, only folks like yourself putting words
in there mouth. But, I am offended now sir. If you'd have read OP, there are other circumstances to the thread. But, I've found a thread on another forum that has such info. But, I keep seeing people posting here not to tell stories, but to judge me. So, sir, my advice to you is to get a life. I'm being told I'm offensive for asking a question? You are offensive, along with others for verbally pestering me on several threads. I am a forward thinking American man, I am flawed, but I am
empowered with a right to an opinion and a god giving right of free speech. If you do not agree
with something I have said, I'm sure four or five others have said it before. But I am proud. So, if
I wanna ask if a person has killed a man, bear, dog, or a charging moose for that matter, I will ask by god! It is the right of others to answer IF THEY WANT! However, no one wants to. So, you are
giving comment for nothing. Good day, sir.
