Concealment holster for Glock 17
I'm looking for a leather belt holster for a Glock 17. There's a lot of really good companies to choose from (Alessi, Kramer, Milt Sparks, etc.). Which company do you think has the best quality holsters?
Thanks for your thoughts.

The Glock 17 is a rather bulky piece. My first recommendation would be a good pancake-style holster, forward cant, worn just behind the strong-side hip (about 3:30 to 4:00 position).
The pancake designs anchor the holster in place fore-and-aft, and the smooth outer holster panel tends to reduce the profile of the holstered handgun better than many other designs.
This seems to be about the best solution for carrying the larger handguns.
Don't forget to use a good sturdy belt, which will support the weight and keep the holstered weapon locked in place without having to be tightened to an uncomfortable degree.
I offer several variations of the pancake style holsters, starting with the Model 1 Pancake @ $43.50, Model 1-SL Pancake with snap-loop belt attachment @ $53.50, and the Enhanced Pancake model @ $59.50.
Let me know if I can be of any help.

686, you can't beat Lobo for quality, price and wait time....that middle rig with the easy on/off snaps is the bomb...

Mitch Rosen, especially his express line. Wonderful leather holsters. Outstanding fit and finish.

I am waiting on an enhanced pancake holster (from lobo gunleather), smooth leather lined to protect and carry my Combat Commander, looking forward to it. It would be nice for a Glock 17 also.

This one is for my Glock 23 but can also be had for Glock 17/22 for the same price from www.rodekleather.com .
He uses very heavy leather, heavier weight than nearly any of the big makers use I've ever seen. It won't leave Ed's shop unless it's exactly right. This one has been carried a lot when I was not wearing uniform for plain clothes and off duty and it is still as tight and stiff as the day I got it nearly 12 yrs ago.
His current price shows $32. Turn around time is about a week.

Sorry about that. Fat fingers and not enough (or too much) coffee. My bad.

I carry my g19 in a Comp-Tac Minotaur IWB, or a Bladetech Eclipse OWB. I also have a Raven Concealment Holster that accommodates the pistol with a SureFire x300. All three work great. I find that with the relatively light, relatively un-safetied Glock trigger, I prefer the no-snag kydex. The Comp-Tac Minotaur is really comfortable for IWB, but still draws and reholsters clean like kydex. The other two conceal well only under a flannel shirt or similar cover layer. I have a g26 too, but since I consider it a holster gun too, I usually opt for the g19. Truth be told neither one has seen the light of day since I started acquiring and carrying stainless S&W snubnose revolvers, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

I agree that the pancake holster is probably the best & most popular holster to carry any handgun. I make holsters. Check out my website, Rodek Leather Works, Inc. - Home. You will find pictures of pancake holsters showing a Glock. I can also personalize the holster with initials at no additional cost. I also agree that a good leather belt is a must. Most of the belts I make are for law enforcement people who want a sturdy belt to handle the weight of a handgun, holster, magazine case, handcuff case, and sometimes even a portable radio. The holster and belt can be tooled & dyed the same to make a nice matching set. Pictures of belts are also on my website with my contact information.
