6 Months now and we just went over 100,000 issued according
to an NRA-ILA email alert. I wonder if our bureaucracy expected
this kind of response.

I've had that same thought. I also wonder what the rest of '12 will bring.

There was a news article on this, too. It really warms my
heart to see that so many are willing to take on the responsibility
of carrying. Heck, even if some Don't carry, it may give
the lawless something to think about before doing some
of their acts. (couldn't think of a better word for that)
In this case, more Is better! TACC1

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe you can write off the permit and 1 firearm for security if you have a business.
maybe even training and ammo.
I have not done it yet but will be looking into it in the future.

Looked it up and I would not do it unless I had a security business.
Bummer for us all.

Default States that do not honor Tennesse Carry permits

Below are the states that do not honor a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit (Which allow you to carry either openly or concealed, it is your choice, but in the training you are advised to carry concealed which I do)!

California
Connecticut
Hawaii
Illinois
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
New Jersey
New York
Oregon
Rhode Island
Wisconsin

Looks like Wisconsin will soon be off that list, Tennessee has been a shall issue State since 1996 so we have been permitting this for almost years November 1996 is when the law went into effect. There have been very few instances of permit holders receiving criminal convictions as a matter of fact those that have carry permits tend to be law abiding citizens.

All those that say more gun owners with firearms will lead to chaos are simply proven wrong with 340,000 permit holders and growing lately in the State of Tennessee, most of the states that do not honor Tennessee's permit are too far away and I have no reason to go there anyway, all states that touch Tennessee honor or reciprocate such as Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Virginia, North and South Carolina as well as Florida, Texas and Oklahoma and Missouri, Mississippi and Louisiana has a reciprocal agreement as does Michigan with New Mexico and Wyoming ...heck where else would I want to go?

I'm pretty sure you can, But you're looking for attention if you're in a populated area.

One more reason to enjoy visiting our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson in "The Only Waunakee in the World". Brats, squeaky cheese, Leinie on tap, The Pack, and now concealed carry. (Just wish I could just figure out some way to bypass Illinois!)

Now that WI has 100K CC-er's, i.e. a statistically signifcant population, this is a perfect time to begin keeping track of:

Anti's - the number of "wild west" incidences, number of crimes committed by CC-er's, and number of AD/ND's, to start with.

Pro's - number of home intrusions, armed robberies, car jacks and rapes stopped/avoided by a CC-er, number of justifiable homicides, to start with.
