What holster are you using for your 642?
Ordered one today and plan to get my CCW with it, so I will need a holster. What are you guys using? Never had a small revolver before or carried one before. Have a model 67 currently. Bud

Blackhawk leather speed classic. I started using it recently, pretty happy so far. Feels good on the hip and holds the gun securely.
I also have an Uncle Mike's cheapo IWB holster. I mostly use this as a sleeve to protect the gun if I want to throw it in the center console. I have tried it as an IWB, it was ok but definitely worth what you pay for it.

I carry my 642 in a Wraith IWB holster by Seth's Gun Leather. It's about as close to perfection as I'm likely to get as far as IWB holsters, at least for me. I had them customize it with a lower ride height so the cylinder is more directly under the belt. This helps with comfort and stability, IMO. Yet it doesn't interfere with getting a good grip on the gun. It also has very good retention balanced with ease of draw. It pulls the gun butt in tight, too.

Hard to beat lobo gun leather for price and quality. Ray's pancake is a perfect rig for the snub...

For my 442, either on the ankle (BUG) in a DeSantis Apache, or in the pocket in a cheap Federal Holsterworks pocket holster.

I've been considering the Lobo M-1 pancake.
Does anyone happen to know if it fits with Crimson Trace grips? It looks like it would be fine. . .

corpulent,
Just let Lobo know what you've got, he can handle it.
Mika for pocket, and either Lobo or BelCharterOak for IWB. I got one
from each and I can switch if I want....'cause they're both great!
Can't beat the prices on any of the three!

A pre-Galco by any other name............(Jackass)
Here is my M&P 360 in an original jackass highride. I love the very high carry it offers. I wouldn't get rid of this holster for any amount less than would make both me and the offer-er look stupid. I use a D.M. Bullard out of Azle,TX for pocket carry.

I use a DeSantis - Cozy Partner for IWB, a Galco - Wraith for OWB, and a Galco - Front Pocket Horse Hide for pocket carry.

Uncle Mikes pocket holster. I have no real need nor desire to carry any J-bird IWB or OWB, but I got a simple inexpensive Bianchi 6 just in case.

Lobo modified pancake works great for me, keeps J-frame nice and tight against my side and is more comfortable than IWB.

Lobo Model 1 Pancake. Add Detail Boned, Add Inner Hammer Shield.
Yes it will work with Laser Grips.
I am using a Nemisis Pocket Holster. Not real impressed with reholstering in it. Looking at a Mika probably to replace it with.

I use a "Wild Bill's Consealment" OWB with the matching speedloader case.
This, with my 2 1/2" HD belt works for me. As you can see, I can no longer use a pocket holster with the Hogue grips.

The Bianchi Lightning (top) works well carrying OWB and the Bianchi Professional (bottom) works well for IWB...

I use several for my M649, Galco Ankle Glove, Galco belly band, Mika pocket. Ideal for a Centennial model.

Recently bought one too. I really like it. I carry a Taurus 85 CH. This holster is leading me away from the Airweights for my next snub. (... well maybe not.)
Depending on where your belt loops are positioned you can find yourself chasing it's position a little. However thats probably true for most holsters.
I've heard it works with LCR, 2" sp101 as well.
Retention is great. A forward rock releases it smoothly. I like the draw. It requires me to be aware of my grip.
I struggle with IWB.

IWB: Desantis Cozy Partner
OWB: Bianchi Minimalist
Pocket: Blackhawk
Sweats/glove box/desk drawer: Uncle Mike's IWB
I find the Cozy Partner to be very comfortable, but I'll probably replace it with something more like the Wraith, with the loops fore and aft of the gun instead of on the cylinder to make it a bit slimmer overall.

I carry my 442 in my pocket, IWB, and OWB, and below is my list:
Pocket - Desantis
IWB - Lobo Gunleather
OWB - Bluegrass Holsters, I think he is out of business, but made a nice simple holster
