Default If you could have only one gun (with slight twist)

Ok, ok.... we've all seen threads about "what if (some weird scenario) and you could only own ONE gun?!".

Well, here's one for you but a little different:

Twist part one: You could own all the ARs and shotguns and full sized handguns etc that you want...

BUT, if you had to cut back to one concealed carry gun... what would it be?

Twist part two: NO J-FRAMES!

Wow, good question and a tough decision. As much as I like my LW Commander and have become very comfortable with it as my primary carry gun, I think if I had to limit my selection to just one the Commander might lose out. Based on unscientific studies conducted in my basement with a cheap postal scale, my Glock 19 with a 15rd mag and one in the pipe weighs LESS than my Commander with an 8rd mag and 1 in the pipe, takes up no more space on my hip and doubles my potential firepower if needed.

Hate to say it. Glock 19.

That's a long way of asking what cc piece would we choose if it couldn't be a J...

It's a close call with a Glock 19, but I like the compact revolvers for deep concealment, so I'd get the next closest thing to a J: an SP101 or a Colt Detective Special.

But my carry gun is a full size....kind of. So can I still play?

I would vote my Shorty 45 MK2 since if I feel the need for more fire power I can go with a full size like a 5606, G17, etc.

No J-frames!?! That's just mean, I'm not talking to you any more! does a 2" K-frame count as a full size?

I'd pick my 242Ti -- it's an L frame.

Gonna be different this time and chose the 21st Century version of the bread-n-butter S&W Model 10.

S&W 9mm SD9VE...reliable, simple, ergonomic, robust and accurate...

If I couldn't have my J,, it would be my Kimber 3" .

Currently don't have a 4" 1911 or a G19. But if I could only have one handgun,, an alloy frame 4" 1911 or a G19 would also be high on my list.

Cold Officers Model 45. Light weight, 3 5/8" barrel. Shoots to POI.

OR

When it comes in my new charter arms Bulldog. (maybe a week)

Or what I carry in my motorcycle jacket pocket, an LCP

BUT usually its a 637 with CT grips loaded with +p wadcutters.

Nice to see the love for the 45.

Default WISH LIST

If I could have ALL the J frames/AR's/shotguns/ full sized pistols, I'd be a pretty well armed guy. But to play, I guess a Sig 239 in 9mm, 8+1,single stack, fits in a pocket and made of metal. Realistically I'd be looking for a big bore lever or sniper type rifle.

That is a tough question since my CCW of choice by far is a J frame. However, my next choice would be my Sig P239. And I would probably slip in the 9mm barrel. If I had one, I'd consider the Model 12 Airweight, but alas I don't.

Default SOUNDS LIKE

You are really asking, which sub compact semi would you choose. Would you consider 3" barrels, k frame & up and 6 shots full sized?
Like anyone would pick a J frame, or smaller sized revolver OTHER THAN A SMITH. (in your face Ruger/Taurus/Charter arms, LOL). Many of the guns picked, nice though they are MIGHT fall into the full size category IMO. Here in Fl with sweat/cargo shorts & T shirts the norm. Formal attire means socks, footwear with laces and shirts with buttons. C/C to me means able to fit in a pocket, or not print iwb or owb. Most of these 10+ shot "compacts" are not all that compact. IMO.

G26 or possibly G27. With the G27 you can convert it to other rounds.

This is an easy one to answer. Ed Brown Kobra Carry. I think I might have some other handguns, but this is the perfect carry gun.

1] M19 with 2-1/2" barrel

2] M586 with 2-1/2" barrel

3] ParaOrd P10 (all steel) in 40 S&W

4] ParaOrd stainless steel P13 in 45 ACP

After the choosing is over there's always time for a sale before the boating accident .

No worries! I would just go back to one of the two I carried both in the pocket and OWB before the 642-1 became my favorite.

Those Kahr PM40s (.40 S&W) are slightly more accurate than the J-frame in my hands and just a little heavier.

Easy one for me- 2 inch 66.
It's out in the safe, loaded and ready to go.

Glock 19 (unless it is considered a full size in this scenario), in which case, it would be a Glock 26.

If I could have only one concealed carry gun, it would be my current EDC: M&P Shield 9. It is comfortable to wear, light weight, easily conceals, nice to shoot, and reliable. And if I could have only one holster it would be the Kusiak IWB tuckable.

+1 on the Shield 9mm, and for the same reasons.

Since I'm in CA, my Glock 19 & 26 each hold 10.
So based on being able to carry the 26 easier,
and being more comfortable to sit with, in an IWB crossdraw,
I would pick the 26. Outside CA, I'd choose the 19.
