Need help w/ ankle holster for 638
I'm needing to get a new BUG and really like the M638 stainless Bodyguard with the 2 1/2" barrell. I'm mainly going to carry it on duty and perfer an ankle rig. I'd like to get one that has a leg garter to keep it from sliding down one my chicken leg . Any help would be great. Thanks

The Galco Ankle Glove might be a good choice. I've been using one for my 638 & 642 and really like it, but have yet to use it with the garter I bought with it. At this time of year I generally wear ankle high work type boots and the top of the boot holds the holster at just the right level.

The Galco ankle glove is a solid choice. Pop for the extra $20 for the garter, it's worth it.

Galco Ankle Glove
+1 for the Ankle Glove. I have used several brands since 1970 and the Galco is by far the best made and most comfortable.

I've been using the Galco ankle glove for over 10 years. I had the calf strap for it but never used it. The holster holds just fine over the 8" lace up boots I wear at work. Be aware that the ankle glove is available in two versions, with and without a retention strap. I prefer with retention YMMV.

I have the Galco offering too and it works well. Let me know if you want my ankle "thingy" as it is a pain in the butt if you ask me. PM me and I will send it to you for free. I have skinny legs too but the strap is constantly falling down or shifting through normal movement. You refer to it as a leg garter.

If you want it strictly for BUG use in uniform, another option is the Gould and Goodrich Bootlock Ankle Holster, Model 716. It is designed to lace into your boot laces. I have both a Galco Ankle Glove and the Bootlock. The Bootlock stays on my duty boots.

Renegade. I've tried others, some of which work well for other folks, including very expensive models from Galco, Alessi and 5-Shot. All have been high-quality rigs, but only Renegades have worked for me with everything from LCPs up to a Detonics MkVI .45, and they are not expensive.
