There's been two situations in which I used my waistband without holster, both times I used the back of my waistband so if it went off it'd be a less painful flesh wound. Once was removing from sight when my brother brought friends home unannounced as I had come down to investigate and really didn't want certain members of his crowd privy to my gun. The second time I was leaving in a hurry and wasn't leaving my gun at home as my brother had gone off his meds.

me too. i did it yesterday *with the back of my waistband* i bought my new M&P .40c and had left my EDC at home. so when i got in the car i loaded it up, and stuffed. because i didnt have enough $$ left on me to buy a holster. so i drove to the ATM, then drove to cabelas and bought a desantis haha

Years ago we used to put our 2" .38 crossdraw in the waistband with a thick rubberband wrapped around the grip to keep things from slipping. I was too skinny for this to work and went back to a holster. IMHO doing this w/a any gun is risky but a semi auto is especially dangerous.

Occasionally I will carry, as they call it "Mexican style". Especially with my Beretta 92fs Centurian. Maybe my new FNP40 once-in-awhile but, not often since my custom made holster for my P229R will work for my FNP and another holster I have for a full size 92f will work after a fashion for the Centurian.

Hmmm... wonder if he'll get a nickname? Maybe something like "Sugar"?

I think I would change my name and move to another state, possibly another country.

on a side note. plaxico is the worst name i've ever heard. his parents must have hated him as much as his safety did.

just like Old Cop I carried a J frame in my waistband without a holster. That big fat rubberband really did keep the Model 40 from slipping. When I was plainclothes in vice, I carried whatever non-cop like *** was available. I those days, bad guys didnt all have Glock .40s, as they seem to have, now. I still have a couple of .25s from those days. 1911s were also big then, because bad guys "knew" we all carried Model 10s. My first inside the waistband holster was a Milt Sparks Summer Special for a Colt Combat Commander. Still have the gun and the holster.
