Default Nightstand lock box

Not sure if this is the right place to post feel free to move it

I'm looking for a nightstand lock box, vault, safe whatever you want to call it that will screw into the side or back of the night stand and fill the space between the nightstand and the bed.

I've done some research and yet to find anything that seems to work well. I'm looking for the pushbutton style lock for quick access. I'm my head I see the lock mechanism on top of a thin box and when the combo is entered the side springs open to form like a v shape. Kinda like how a glove box would work.

Does anyone know of anything like this? Or have any suggestions? The gf is making me lock it up but I want quick access if u need it. I do have a lot of people in and out of the house often so locking it is prob a good idea

Both those companies offer great options they have the lock type I was looking for, but none of them seemed able to bolt to the front of back on my night stand and provide easy access.

I guess I could always use one of those and teather it to the bed frame and leave the box under the bed

I saw the speed vault and its close to what I was looking for. It just seems very bulky and expensive for room for just a single hand gun

Believe me, that's a good price. I've only seen one other vertical mount pistol box and it was $100 more.

Besides, what more do you want? How much is the safety of your gun worth?

Try this one. Mounts to any flat surface or bed rail. You can leave the combination unlocked and the lid stays closed until you push it down which release it.

I have Gun Vaults and the Fort Knox box, and much prefer the Fort Knox pistol box.

At 10lbs, it's substantially heavier than anything from Gun Vault (much thicker steel used).

I also like the concealed hinge.

I installed one of these in-wall safes for my wife's jewelry.

http://www.amazon.com/Paragon-Electr...ref=pd_cp_hi_3

The door and flange on this are 1/8" steel and would hold a couple of guns and mags. It's fast to get into, and it would protect your home defense gun from theft better than anything I've seen in this thread so far. There are a couple of things you can do to prevent the safe from being removed by even a determined thief. If you get one (or one like it) PM me and I'll tell you what they are.

These two come to mind and can be mounted the way you want. They use a mechanical push button lock so you don't need any batteries or electronics of any kind. They are simple, easy to use and very reliable.

FAS1 Safe

The Titan is more expensive, lighter steel, but has portability in mind if that's something to consider.

The FAS1 Safe is heavy duty and not designed to be portable.

Most of the drawer or clamshell type handgun safes can't be mounted and accessed easily in the way you describe, but these two also use this type of lock and are good quality.

I have a SpeedVault discreetly mounted to the wall in my bedroom - I am very happy with it. There are heavier built or smaller more convenient lock boxes available as others have been mentioned, but IMHO this the best combination of features I've found for a box of this type. It's not as secure or as big as a safe in the basement, but for hiding, securing, and having a pistol readily available - it's a good option. If you spend 1/2 the money, but it doesn't do what you need it to, was it really cheaper? Plus, for the location you said you'd like to put it, I'm not sure there is a "multi" gun capable box that will do what you want.
