Default CC in National Parks

Why are there so many signs stating no firearms in Mammoth Cave? Is it not part of the park system?

I'm not sure. It may be part of the Park system or of another system that was not covered by that bill. It may also be that the state law that would authorize carry doesn't, or that these are old signs from before that amendment.
Whatever you do, DO NOT attract attention to yourself by asking an employee. They probably don't know anyway.

Mammoth Cave NP is, indeed, part of the National Park System. Here is some info that may help you.

Be safe.

I wonder why, are they afraid a discharge would damage the cave or the sound would damage hearing. Just wondering why.

Thanks guys, I was just curious on others thoughts. Big D thanks also for posting the link. I had read it on the site as well. I do believe it falls under state law for exceptions. It makes me wonder though.......
