Would like some suggestions on a good quality snap cap. I would like them for dry fire practice and range practice(malfunction and tactical reloads). Are there any other uses for these caps? Thanks in advance.

Get some A-Zoom snap caps off of Amazon. They'll do what you want.

Another use? Sometimes at the range with a friend We'll load each others mags and throw in a few random snap caps. It's done to observe and try to prevent flinching

My LGS told me that I do not need to use snap caps to dry fire my 9c and Shield. Am I causing any damage to my guns by not using them?

I got the Tiptons based on this review, and I'm quite happy with them.

Try dummyrounds.com. They are awesome and come very close to the real thing. They have a great assortment of calibers.

LGS is correct. No harm, but I prefer the muffled/dampened sound when I use them vs. the loud "TINK" metallic noise I hear when I do not use them.

Having someone else load your magazines with them is a very good way to get rid of some bad habits. My girl friend couldn't even hit a target 10 feet away with every round until we put snap caps in so she would believe me that she was flinching.

I've never heard of a gun being damaged by using snapcaps. I have heard of a gun being damaged when not using them. What's having your gun repaired worth to you?

i don't care for A_ZOOM. sometimes their snap caps get stuck in chambers. maybe their specs. were off. a **** to get out. Tradtions are good in pistol /rev., but in 12 ga. i seem to destroy the 12 ga. snap caps.

Six of one... Half a dozen of the other... I've had positive experiences with the .38/.357 caliber A-Zoom snap caps in my revolvers. The only problems I've experienced are the rims eventually breaking after many, many thousands of dry fires, but for the usage I've gotten out of them I think I could've done far worse in terms of value.

I won't take a chance on Tiptons based on their MidwayUSA reviews, but I guess like anything else YMMV.

I have Pachmayr 9mm snap caps and use them a lot. They are finally getting chewed up enough after several years that I might replace them sometime in the next few months.

I like the Triple-K snap caps. I found the A-Zooms to have so much
excess headspace (at least in 44) that they did not really contact
the firing pin. Consequently they really do nothing.
The Triple-K is plastic with a brass "primer" and a spring inside.
They provide a lot of strain relief and have a nice "sproing" sound.
They don't last forever but do the job of providing ease of mind
when dry firing a lot.
