A good custom leather rig, IWB or OWB from a reputable craftsman such as Milt Sparks will allow you to carry the gun comfortably and will likely last years longer than something cheaper. There are also some good Kydex rigs such as Comptac and Blade Tech. Cross Breed makes some hybrid IWB rigs that seem to be very comfortable as well as functional. I carry a full sized M&P 45 in a Milt Sparks Summer Special II using a Milt Sparks belt and find it is more comfortable than any other holster, in or outside the waist band that I've ever used.

I am a fan of high quality leather holsters and have found Kramers Horsehide about the best there is for OWB holsters.

As far as IWB holsters are concerned (and I am probably in the minority here) I like the inexpensive floppy soft suede IWB holsters the best. Yes, they will collapse after the gun has been drawn and you will need two hands to re-holster, but that has never been a major concern to me.

The soft suede type hosters are the thinnest, softest and most comfortable as far as I am concerned, and I have yet to find a stiff leather holster even somewhat comfortable to carry for IWB use. I carry a revolver and I have removed the clip from it's original position and re-located it so not to be directly in back of the cylinder. By doing so, it is better than original. Now they actually have them made that way from the Factory.

Not sure if the 439 and something like the 5906 are the same size or not, but check TheHolsterStore.net S&W 5904, 5906
I have an IWB for my 6906 from them and its nice. Not expensive and had it within a week. I only use leather and this IWB has good quality leather and conceals well. Email them or call, they should know what will fit if you don't.
