Default NRA Membership YES/NO ???

This is not a poll necessarily about you.

Do you know another gun owner who is not a member of NRA or maybe not one of your friends but did you ever come across a person who is resisting to become a member of NRA as a gun owner.

Please VOTE YES if you are a gun owner but still not a member of NRA for some reason.

Aside from on this forum and with a very select group of friends, I don't talk about my guns. I will however talk about the overall benefits and importance of the NRA to anyone who'll listen.

I have talked myself blue in the face trying to get through to people (non NRA gun owners) that while the NRA is far from perfect, they are about the only major organization in our court - literally! We need to support them to the best of our ability and not "find" excuses and reasons not to support them. I have had major blow-outs over this issue and while I have convinced most, there are some really stubborn gun owners in this land of ours. I will keep up the fight though.

I agree completely!

Also, I see NRA membership as a way to show the strength of the gun owners of this nation.
Since most of us are not available to go to every protest or march to a state capitol by spending $25 (discounted membership fee) a year, we can increase the membership number of this body and send a message about our strength.

I agree, there are lots of things about NRA that I do not agree but still, they are the best we have out there.

The current offer of $100.00 for 5 years is a steal. One cannot purchase a firearm magazine each month for this price. The insurance and other benefits are well worth the $20.00 year.

There are HUGE numbers of rifle and shotgun owners that will not join the NRA because they don't like handguns and 'modern sporting guns/weapons'. All they need is their squirrel, rifle their woodchuck rifle, their deer rifle, their bear rifle and a shogun plugged to two in the mag, one in the chamber. They really think the NRA and members like me are nothing but "gun crazy idiots".

Another group are former NRA members who hate the constant mail for fundraising. That's what they make shredders for!

I do hate those non-stop fundraising emails too, but still it wasn't enough to stopping me to become a member.
I do hope with a better management NRA uses the online marketing to make profit for the cause...

BUT, sometimes I do hope that a really strict gun control legislation to be pushed upon us. I mean not slowly as it happens currently but really tough. Confiscations of each and every type of firearm, seizures, search and seizure raids and all...
Probably only and I mean only under that kind of circumstances the gun community will come together. I am sick and tired of people with the "well they are not touching the guns I own, so I am ok" mentality out there just because some people doesn't own ARs or 30+ round magazines or anything other than a shotgun or a revolver...
Gun community really need a kick in the rear to unite around the same cause...
Too bad...
Unfortunately there is not a single charismatic leader out there to unite the gun owners under a flag, by making the point to those that they are not out of danger just because their type of guns are not banned yet...

You are not thinking clearly. If you get your wish you will be in the camp. That's where you'll find the getting together of gun owners you wish for. Standing over the ditch. I'm just gonna leave it there as I don't want to rant, just know there isn't any turning around after confiscation. Just watch the military channel.

I know... I was ranting... That's why I said sometimes I hope...
Plus I didn't explain correctly what I meant I guess. I am not hoping an act like that...
I am just hoping that a very strong all inclusive ban proposed... Just proposed...
Then and only then some will get the idea.
Otherwise those people won't wake up as long as they think their guns won't be banned, ever...
That's what I meant.

I am proud to have helped many good citizens who came to me over the years who were interested in buying a gun for home defense. I was a regular member of the NRA for many years and then upgraded to Life member through their Easy Pay Life Plan. It was $25.00 per quarter for 5 years, so I thought it was a relatively painless process. Even came with a jacket offer.
