Im looking forward to this. The RTA and the 2nd Amendment.
I just heard yesterday that the local RTA//Rural Transit==the Bus company, will be allowing those who have their CCLs, to open carry on their busses. What little do they know, I know of several who had theirs with them concealed--while the company frowned on it. Several drivers I know who have their CCL, have always carried. Previously, if they were caught packing heaters, immediate termination.

Are they referring to employees or passengers?

How benevolent of them to grant a right to you that they can not deny to you in the first place.
As a govt funded bus company they can not make up "rules" that run contrary to state law. At least that's how I see it.

Employees. Till start of 2016 passengers could be planned for riding for six months to permanently. However, a few months ago, they caught a passenger with a concealed handgun, but did nothing.

Prior to a few months ago, you could be subject to arrest. This company-though getting some gov money, is privately owned. However, I agree with you and if a passenger got banned? I've been told he could win a lawsuit on the 2nd Amendment fairly easily.

Did ( do) they have a 30.06 sign posted on the bus? If not, they have no legal grounds. The RTA in Corpitos is a criminal organization anyway.

The Cleveland RTA is weird about that.
The last time I checked, neither their buses nor trains were posted... but ALL of their BUILDINGS are.
That means you can carry on the bus in most instances, but not trains... since in most instances, you have to enter an RTA building in order to get ON the train.

Corpus is so goofy. The County Commissioners are now committed to having RTA audited by an outside operation. I'd prefer the Texas Rangers audit them, myself.
Meanwhile, the Commissioners have announced there will be metal detectors at the front door of the courthouse, instead of at the elevators to the courtrooms. There's been a 30.06 sign posted for a while, but I guess it'll keep the street people out of the lobby.

All they have posted, is one of those silly signs that has a handgun in sillouette sp? In a circle with a line through it ala, ghostbusters style. When I was on a bus today, I didn't notice if those signs were taken down yet?
The RTA IS corrupt. I don't know if you heard it in the news about missing thousands from some employees account. One guy busted for pinching thousands, was a guy by the name of Julian, who has been a driver there for around 27 years and due to retire next year. I know this guy and he was a nice guy who you could set your watch with. One would have never thought he was a thief. The guy won all-kinds of awards yearly. He always won the bus rodeos too. Now he's a wanker and can never live his thievery down.
The company being corrupt--BIG TIME! One example is when an employee gets sick, said employee can't use sick time without getting dinged by it. I know one who retired earlier this year who had over 600 hours of sick time--alone, and when he retired, he was only paid for about 1/3rd= his check was about $3,500 vs the $10,000 or so that was rightfully his. They get screwed out of vacation time as well as workman's comp--when they retire.

Ya don't want to get me started on those fools. The biggest one of the batch of fools is loyd neal. The homeless are still a problem and building security is a joke at best.
