CCW agreement revoked
Our Va Atty Gen has revoked the reciprocating agreement for Concealed Carry with 25 states. He said their requirements aren't up to Va."s. Can't figure that out as you can complete the required course on line here. I don't a list. If I can find it I'll post.

I see that SC is included in the reciprocity agreements to be revoked. Ridiculous. Our law requires not only in-person classroom instruction -- not online as in VA -- and an actual shooting test.
I hope someone asks the guy, "So, how many out-of-state licensed carriers have committed crimes in VA?"

I believe their stated gripe is something about our SC carry rights being maintained after a couple of misdemeanors, or some such nonsense.

Will the 25 states that are black listed continue honoring/allowing CC for Virginia license holders?
I bet not, Double Whammy.

Done with proper reasoning.
In the Commonwealth of Virginia, '...a history of stalking, drug dealing or inpatient mental health treatment' can disqualify a person from CCW.
Apparently some states don't consider such behaviors important.
I applaud their decision. Your opinions may vary.
Be safe.

This is yet another example of the difficulties involved in getting states to consistently agree on such issues, and yet another in the ongoing examples of why it may be impossible to ever get federal senators and representatives to ever come to agree on some consensus that's agreeable to enough states to get a national reciprocity law passed.
Look at the difficulties involved in getting HR218 to eventually get passed as LEOSA, and how it had to have its language amended 6 years after the original law was signed regarding who was included ... and the restrictions ... and the annual qualification requirement.
And that was with some desire to see active and honorably retired LE able to remain armed in states other than that of their residence/employment, for the potential benefit of the nation's citizens in times of possible terrorist threats.
Sigh ...

Virginia never accepted Missouri CCW. But we accepted theirs. Hope our AG changes that real soon.

I have contacted my local Virgina state government delegate, he assures me the legislature will be taking this issue up when they convene in a couple of weeks for the 2016 session. Not sure how they will deal with it or how long it will take to overturn this very poor decision.

This might not go down so easy
legislature gets involved
“A lot of the governor’s power is deferred to the General Assembly at that point and I’ll be getting with my collegues to circumvent everything this governor has done on this point..."
