What revolver do you carry?
For those who carry revolvers, what model do you carry most frequently?

When I carry a revolver, it is a Model 36-6 for short runs, or if I am driving long distances, it is a Colt Trooper MKIII in a shoulder holster. Soon a 686+ may be added to the rotation.

Most often a 442. On "outdoor" type trips, it's a 60-15.

Newest Smith I have, a late 40's 4" K-Frame M&P humpback hammer with BB 20C Standard pressure LSWHCGC .38 Spec. Had it since 1969, not pretty, but I shoot it very well. Carry on my right hip and leave my shirt tail out if I want it concealed. I'm very comfortable with it, if and when the lightning strikes. I'm one of them old white haired guys, set in my ways and proud of it.

2" Model 10 most of the time, replacing my Model 642 as my EDC. The M 642 comes out under certain circumstances. A M 638 rides in the car daily. My favorite is the 2" Model 10. I am considering carrying a 2.5" Model 19.
As much as I like my snubby L frames they're just too chunky for daily carry and full sized guns, 4" or more being full sized, no way for EDC for me, especially N frames. How would I ever hide a 4" N frame?

I've been on a downsizing kick lately & have sold my 2" Model 10-5, Model 38-0 & Colt LW Agent. Recently my EDC has been a Ruger LCR in 9mm or an 2.25" SP101, have been considering another LCR in .357 Mag though ...

My homely old Model 49 rides with me most days. I've got a new Model 36, but it's equipped with the dreaded lock, the 49 isn't.

Usually I carry a Colt Cobra .38 Special revolver, made circa 1967. It's very lightweight, yet holds 6 rounds.
But sometimes I carry a S&W Model 36 .38 Special revolver, square butt, made circa 1968.
Ammo? Usually lead ball.

I only carry Revolvers. My favorite and always in my pocket is a S&W 442. AIWB has changed many times. I have carried Taurus 608, 605, 617, 627. Ruger SP101 and a LCR357. For the past few years The S&W 37 and 36 have been my AIWB guns.

My favorite carry revolver right now is a Lew Horton model 24. It has a great action and carries comfortably. There are some good 44 Special loads available too.

Being a collector, I have literally dozens of choices. For the last couple of months, I've been carrying a beautiful S&W 640-1 Pro Series .357 in the pocket holster that I use to carry most of my snubbies in. The holster fits both the Smith snubby I, improved I, J, and 357 J frames, and the Colt Detective Special sized snubbys. I have 8 or 9 Colts: D.S., Cobra, and Agents in both the unshrouded and shrouded configurations, a Bankers Special, a Pocket Positive and probably some others I can't remember right now. Then there are the Smiths: two Terriers, a .32 pre 30 snub, a Baby Chief, an early pre Cenntenniel (Hammerless Chief Special, 42 no dash, .... Well, at least a dozen more Smith snubs. I am a shooting collector. I do not abuse any of my guns, but I believe they were made to shoot, and like to rotate them in carry, just for fun. After all, any handgun is intrinsically inferior to the shotgun and rifle when it comes to defense, and shot placement and penetration are the main prerequisites of adequate defense. I train with my guns, these snubbys are all very similar in their handling characteristics, and I feel confident with all of them.
I also carry semiautos from time to time, but it's getting late, and I don't want to bore you with more lists of what I might carry from time to time. But my favorite two autos are my Kimber Ultra CDP II in .45, and my old 60s era Colt Commander in .38 Super.
Best regards, Les

Most frequently it is a 4in Model 15-7
If carrying a snub it is a Colt Agent mid 80's make.

Iggy, that's sure one sweet looking rig there!!! My problem is that there are so many guns, and so little money!!! I know that I buy way too many Smiths and Colts, and other brands to a lesser extent, but unlike investing in stocks and bonds, the money that you put in guns is a pretty safe investment.
Over time it will surely grow, but it will never go down in value, unlike other investments. On those rare occasions when I have sold guns, I have never lost money. And usually make a modest profit. So I don't really feel guilty when I spring or a new shootin' iron, any more than if I were to put the money in a bank account.
All of which is a prelude to thinking about the advisability of finding something along the lines of that nice looking snub nose you have there.
Best Regards, Les

Found this one in a local pawn shop awhile back. Ammo was scarce then, and as I already reload, I picked up a set of dies for it, and shoot mainly 9mm bullets reloaded in .38 super brass. It is a sweet shooting little Colt!!! It even came pre- idiot scratched, so I don't have to worry about when I slip up and scratch it myself!!!
My apologies to the OP, this was supposed to be about revolvers. I was just answering Protected Ones question. Well, it wasn't so much a question as a declaration, but you see what I mean.
Best Regards, Les

Lemme see here. About 10 categories of J-frames and then there's "Other K-frames"? What's that all about?
Normally I carry a Colt Commander .45acp. But when the wheel gun mood hits, my go to is a 3" Model 13.
GF carries a 2" Model 10.
So why is there this assumption the revolver people mostly carry J's?

My most carried revolver is an early '60s Model 38, pocket holster w/factory small wood grips & grip adapter. Recently purchased the M&P .380 and it has become my EDC w/the M38 relegated to the safe.

Most frequently? One of my 642-1's or M&P 340's (I have a pair of each, because I like them a lot).
Less frequently? 649 (older .38 Spl model), 37-2, 36 or a SP101DAO.
My larger revolvers still see some range use, but seldom see carry roles anymore. I prefer smaller guns, especially for my retirement CCW.

No more Glocks for me since retirement. 642 everyday. 10-7 2" for fall, winter, and spring.

342PD, carried a lot, shot just often enough to be satisfied that it works. This is a show and tell thread right?

I want to get a 10-7 snub for my retirement gun. 10-7 is our code for off-duty haha

Normally I carry a Colt Commander .45acp. But when the wheel gun mood hits, my go to is a 3" Model 13.
GF carries a 2" Model 10.
So why is there this assumption the revolver people mostly carry J's?

No doubt there are far more J's carried than K's; however this is the one site on which I must agree and I had the same thought.

More frequently I carried a Charter Arms Bulldog Pug .44 SPL, but lately I'm leaning on my Smith & Wesson Model 60-7 with Hornady Critical Defense +p.
