Your Best Shot.
What firearm do you shoot best with even out of practice?. Mine hands down is my M&P 40 C.

Sig P220 only because it's full frame and no polymer. Shield .45 is my favorite though.

I feel like my answer is almost cheating... it is my PC 845 Limited (second series "Model of 1998")
Every time I read where someone posts about a Glock or M&P and says "...it is more accurate than I am!" it makes me think that they have never experienced a handgun that is not only capable of precision, but one that offers an interface that helps you shoot to your actual abilities as well.
I do great with my Walther PPQm2 and I love my 39's, 659, my 3906's and 5906's but the real truth is that those pistols, for all they do so well, they cannot do what my 845 can do, regardless of who is shooting them.
If you think that your Glock can absolutely outshoot your own abilities, then I believe truly that you are selling yourself short.
I never seem to find the best words to express my thoughts on this subject.

I don't own a CCW, so best shooter would be k22 since its been
main handgun for 56yrs. The only gut buster I own is a PP 32
and I am sure I can shoot it well enough for its purpose.

Yep, shooting a 1911 is pretty much instinctive for me. No other gun fits my hand nearly as well, though the BHP and a CZ75 carried condition 1 come close.

Mine is a CZ-83. I can pick it up after not shooting it for years, and hit everything I aim for. Perfect ergonomics for me.

I understand where you are coming from.
I know it is going to sound snobbish but, trying to describe how a Model 845, Model 52, or something from the SIG X-family performs and reacts is like trying to describe how a McLaren or Ferrari handles the curves at 100+. Until you have experienced it, there is no point of reference for discussion. I was in awe once I drove my first "Exotic" and I understood how man and machine can interact at such a High Performance level
I typically do not start a person with a Model 52 as trigger follow through is important and is hard to master from the first shot, but it is the Smith and Wesson to beat
The SIG X-5/6 pistols (or any of the MasterShop offerings) are what I like to let shooters try first. They are so soft shooting and so accurate
It is great to see that ear to ear grin after a shooter puts his/her first magazine through an X-5/6

What a difficult question to answer. My first answer could be one of three Model 10s that I own, except that one burned up in the fire and might not be shootable.
I know. A Model 10? But after shooting cowboy action with fixed sight Vaqueros for so many years shooting Model 10s is a breeze.
However, for CQB fighting, not bulls-eye stuff, it's very likely my Browning HP or my 4" M686+. I can point shoot those for center of mass in close quarters any day, never mind using the sights, in which case with sights I am probably better with the revolver "just because".
This one burned but it might still shoot - someday I'll find out - it was my "twitch" gun - So accurate I could take you out before you twitch (liberally stolen from a Miami Vice scene).
My first 250 out of 250 on the Texas CHL test, instead of 246 or 248, with this M10:

I'll make the assumption, as have others, you are talking handgun. For me it's my Ruger Mark II Bull Barrel 22. It's easily the most accurate pistol I've ever shot.

I shoot pretty often so, the concept of "out of practice" doesn't fit me well. Even so, Rpg has it right:

I take a walk in the woods every day. My K22 goes along to shoot at running lizards. I get quite a few.

Personally, I shoot a lot of 1911's, N frames, and SA revolvers, so all three feel natural to me, though they are quite different.
Now of center fire handguns I don't shoot often, my BHP is probably the best at picking up cold, and shooting well.

The one I probably shoot consistently best with is my Les Baer Premier II .45 ACP.
[IMG] [/IMG]
I guess second best is probably my S&W Model 21-4.
[IMG] [/IMG]
After that, or maybe dead even with the above two are either of my S&W Model 18-3's, and my Model 17-3.

Strangely enough, I tend to shoot my Model 940 better than my other guns. I shot a higher score with it than with any other gun I qualified with this year. I think its a combination of my small hands, its steel frame, light recoil and the Pachmayr Compac Pro grips I have on it.

this is striker fired Magnum Research MR9, a "clone" of Walther P99. for some reason i shoot this pistol quite well. it has a de-cocker, unusual in striker fired. i shoot it better than the PPQ m1. if i had to re-qualify for CC permit, this is the pistol i'd shoot. not practial for carry.

If we're talking CC firearms at CC distances it would be my Gen 1 Kimber Compact Aluminum in 45ACP. Too much muscle memory from shooting and carrying 1911's for close to forty years.
For a paper punching handgun in center fire, my PC 945. Hands down the most accurate semi auto center fire handgun I own.
Paper punching revolver, my 48-3 when shooting Eley Tenex through the 22LR cylinder. That gun LOVES that load. SCARY ACCURATE.

My Colt 38 super is a narrow win over my MK II bull barrel Ruger, which is a very close second. Some days I can't go wrong with the Ruger however. They are dandy shooters.

SPUR OF THE MOMENT SHOTS.
DEFINATELY the ones I never planned on, or put any thought into! Early on all I had was a Mossberg 500 with bird & smoothbore slug barrels for about my first 12 years or so. That shotgun was very lucky for me, but I was much younger/keen of eye/steadier of hand. Went into a slump when I could afford "better" guns.

My 4" 686 and my CZ75B are tied for best bullseye shooting within the 7-20 yard range I shoot handguns. Those two are also the best shooting favorites of novice shooters I bring to the range.
My CZ PCR EDC is almost as accurate as it's 75B cousin.

All of my revolvers are snubbies - J’s and K’s.
My 66-4 has the best trigger and is the best shooter of the bunch.
Of my semi-autos, I do best with this Kimber Ultra Carry.

My Sig P220 Carry SAO (Single Action Only) 45 ACP is my most accurate semi auto pistol and my S&W Model 17-4 with 8 3/8 barrel is my most accurate revolver.
The trigger on the Sig P220 SAO is smooth as silk and that really helps in the accuracy. The S&W 17-4 thinks it's a rifle and is very accurate.

I enjoy shooting all of them but I have to say the 1911s are by far the most accurate. Colt Commander, S&W 1911 and Ruger SR1911, all 45s. The Sigs shoot really nice, my favorite however is the Walther PPQ, it just feels right.

I'm very good with my S&W 40 Compact in 40 also but the top pistol in my stable is my Beretta PX4 Sub Compact in 9mm .. It just feels so nice in my hand .. The first three shots I fired through it was a group under an inch at 15 feet .. I had a great day at the range that day !! It was far beyond what I normally shoot .. I still get 3 shot groups under 2.5 inches at 10 - 15 feet .. and a bit better then that on a good day ..
I'm still trying to get use to my 686 + Performance Center but having a hard time getting use to the loooong trigger release point .. So use to my autos .. I keep short stroking it !!
Edit - If you had asked which I enjoy shooting the most it would have to be my Fratelli Tanfoglio SPA TZ75 Series 88 .. Made in Italy .. Has been gone over and is completely stock has a DA of 3 1/2pounds and an SA of 1 3/4 pounds .. A wonderful range gun .. was bought by a friends wife to shoot with competitively but found the pistol a little large for her hands .. Her husband honed all contact points and it is extremely smooth in both DA and SA .. But its a little too light a trigger pull for me to be comfortable carrying it .. but fun too shoot it is ether in 9 or 41 as it came with both barrels and mags ..

I'm in good company, my 1911 is the best natural out of the holster gun I have for handgun, next to my Model 29. Its such a natural fit in the hand, so graceful and balanced, it flows and fits right. My 29-2 is a masterpiece, its My Gun at the end of the day, but if that 1911 GI just isn't just the perfect fit whenever you get back to it.
For long guns my PTR91 is the most natural up to the shoulder in combat rifles. The old 20 gauge Mossberg 500 youth from my squirrel hunting days is something that goes so naturally its like the gap between many years of use never happened. For bench shooting, my CZ 550 is always a nice trigger to return to, always exactly where you remembered it. I can "drop it off" and return to training with it at any time and not lose anything.
Interesting question as I ramble free association style. Trigger confusion is a real thing and can really screw up a man, along with the usual problems of getting rusty from lack of shooting. Certain guns you can quit shooting for extended periods and pick right back up, others are a humiliating reintroduction to an old friend. Grab an old accurate gun you used to be really in sync with but quit shooting for a while and you can be astounded how inaccurate it has become (can't be you of course) from sitting idle. I used to do shoots on the property here doing 5 round strings from three different handguns in constant rotation, all three I can shoot well, and it can be surprising how such rapid change up can throw you off.

That is a tuff question for me. All of my M&Ps and GLOCKs are on point with me. I can say this though I got my hands on a TAURUS PT111 G2 about 6 months ago went to the range and shot 289/300 first time out... Gotta admit TAURUS hit the mark with the G2 and G2c 189.00-250.00 is hard to beat.

I shoot most of my handguns pretty well but I would have to say that my custom 1911 or my custom Browning Hi Power would be at the top of the list. I made a hell of a shot this year with my Glock 19 though. We have a life size steel Elk at 400 yds at our range that I hit on my second shot with my Glock 19.
