Hi, I am picking up a Old Dan Wesson revolver. Reading online it appears I need a holster that will fit a Smith&Wesson K-Frame or L-frame, or colt python. The 686 seems to be a model that is close enough the holster works. I will probably get a OWB holster too, but want to start with IWB, since it has a 2.25” barrel. Any recommendations?

Thanks

Yes. IWB, I recommend the TT Gunleather KX Lightweight or the other IWB with belt loops. Excellent holsters.

For OWB, I recommend the Lobo Enhanced Pancake or TT Gunleather's OWB with snap belt loops.

I think what I would like is one that could be switched from iwb to owb. Probably not going to find it for this gun, at least not cheaper than I could just buy 1 of each

I've been carrying 66-1 2.5" S&W in a Sticky holster for months, & really impressed with the performance of this $30 holster. It has never moved and is thin enough to be really comfortable. Call me surprised to say the least. I can swap out several firearms using the one holster. Including an officer's sized 1911.

I ended up buying a second one for J frame sized guns. I'm glad I took a chance on them. Started wearing it late last summer and never sweated through it once. I am not associated with the company in any way, other than being a happy customer. (so far)

Wrightleatherworks.com great leather holsters of the highest quality if you have the time to wait for delivery !!

I bought the Cobra for my 686 and I am very happy with it .. its the 3rd holster I have bought from them ..

I really like Simply Rugged, but El Paso makes the best IWB holster I know of. It is called the C Force or Convert Force. I have two of them and I can wear my 3" SP101 or my CZ85 comfortably all day long under a T shirt. It is easy to re-holster with as well.

I have two Simply Rugged IWB and love them, but will try the El Paso next.

smore For iwb check out Safariland model 27 . They work well and have a model for the DW revolvers , Cost is low enough you can buy a owb too.

I have a safariland paddle model 586 for a k-frame I use for my DW 15-2 4" . Probably find the K frame model on amazon for a reduced price !!

I use a 27 for a commander as one of my CC options . Comfortable to wear , very adjustable for cant and carry's a handgun high on my side
