PA recognizes OH "Resident" Permit Only. This has been the case as long as I've been a resident of Ohio (~15 years).

I just check "handgunlaw.us" and OH does honor PA permits.

Most of the places I used to travel to by air, you couldn't bring firearms. I did fly between Denver and Tucson quite a bit. I usually took either a my Series 70 .45 ACP or a 4" M29-2. Never bothered with ammo. I would stop by a gun store I used to do a lot of business with and buy a box of ammo for either one. When I flew home, left ammo with a friend. He could store it or shoot it, as he let me stay for free. If he didn't shoot it, I had it left over for the next time, if he did, well, back to the gun store on the way from the airport.

At one time the two states did not allow it, not sure how long ago that was. Just thought it was funny, that the next door neighbor could not and the guy from Fla could carry there.

I may throw an extra magazine in my glove box for my G43 but that’s about it for me.

Extra speed strip for revolver or extra Mag for a pistol. If in the camper a tuneful in the 12 bore and another 6 in a shell holder.

I guess I am not as prepared as most, even if I always carry. I just returned from a trip of about 600 miles each way, driving an SUV with my wife. I carried my Ruger LC9s and a spare mag for a total of 15 rounds and never felt insecure. I've made trips of greater distances and didn't always take an extra mag, figuring the the 8 in the gun will be enough.

If I fly, its only because I don't have the time to drive, such as for a funeral and it would most likely be to NY where I still have family. No way that I can take a gun, even in my luggage without commiting a felony in NY. So it means I make the entire trip unarmed. Not ideal, but it is what it is.

Usually a speed strip for the 642 and ten belts for the Ma Deuce. If I have to go into Chicago I add a few LAWs.

Over the many years of our road trips, I've evolved from carrying larger pistols to carrying one of my snubs, and sometimes a LCP as an optional choice for even easier LEOSA carry.

For the snub revolvers I typically bring the usual speedstrips I carry, and add a few speedloaders, as well as an extra box of ammunition. The LCP sees an extra magazine and a box of ammunition.

FWIW, I usually pay more attention to choosing a selection of pocket knives. Some of the cities where we stay when out-of-state in the PNW are listed as having blade length restrictions which vary, so I like to have options for when 3" and shorter blades are required. I also like to have options available when it comes to lockblade folders, Trapper folders and SAK's, too.

made a trip last week. I took a Glock 19 with 4 extra loaded magazines and a box of 50. Just in case. Also took a .30 Carbine with 6 magazines and another 300 rounds. Oh, and a Mossberg pump 20 ga with 120 rounds of #2 Buck and slugs. Just in case.
There was also a .45 Colt Smith Mountain gun with a box of 250 grain HP. You just never know.

On a actual road trip I take either a steel 3" 1917 or a snub 325, 6 in the gun and 18 in 1/2 moons because the are flatter in my pocket.

Summer time I may take an alloy J frame in 32 H&R and 3 speed loaders

When traveling, I take my loaded S&W 4053. Nothing more. I'm on vacation or traveling to meet friends or family. I'm carrying for self defense.

The last thing I want is to become involved in the criminal justice system far away from home. Today, there are too many anti-gun types in our courts sitting behind the bench, at the tables before the bench, and in the jury box.

When I am driving I carry my Colt Pocketlite and a spare magazine. When I fly I don't bring a gun unless it is a shooting or hunting vacation. I wonder where some of the posters go that they feel the need to carry so much with them. I have been in 46 states and almost 2 dozen countries, and in all that time, I've never truly been at risk. So 14 rounds in two mags when I am afoot seems like enough to me. I agree with the sentiment that if I felt the need to carry that much ammo with me to go to a place, I'd probably stay away. If i was going there to rescue a family member, different story.

The only time I ever carried as everyday practice was back in 80s. I was working around Cleveland and carried a m13 every day. This was before Ohio had CCW. I didn’t care. Those neighborhoods were bad back them and today I wouldn’t venture in there with a Thompson and not at night at all.
This prime example of just avoiding known trouble areas. I realize things are getting worse everyday but how much ammo does one really think is necessary for any scenario short of enemy paratroops attacking?

Too many judges and county attorneys focused on social justice rather than criminal justice. When out of town, I prefer to run than gun.
Same here. I don't anticipate gong to war or having to fight my way back home. If there is social injustice I will be home anyway with the heavy stuff.
