Default Road trip and my hybrid 637-2

Went on a road trip with some friends. Normally I carry a 442. Decided to bring along my 637-2 with a 642 hammer installed. The part cost me about 40 on the Bay site. A few minutes worth of work to swap the hammers. So far I have over 200 rounds of various manufacture without issue. Goes bang every time.

Since we had to travel through a state that does not recognize my permit I put it in the suitcase with a TSA lock and engaged the internal lock and kept the ammo wallet in my backpack.

Got to the rest stop in the next legal state and back in business

I do have to say this feels lighter than my 442 and comes out of the pocket pretty easy.

Default a heck of a good idea!

For me, EDC since 1971 has been Model 36, Model 60, then Model 637-2. Then a couple years ago I came across the 9mm M&P 2.0 and found it fit my Safariland GLS holster just fine and gave me some retention plus more rounds. I do like the M&P setup, but there are still many times I revert to the 637-2 and now with your post adding the 642 hammer........I'll be right where I should have been all along.

Gotta get over on flea bay and find one.

Thanks for the swell idea!

Default Me too

I tried the same set up. Shield 2.0 but I could not hit the side of a barn even if I was inside the barn! I barely stay on target with my Glock 19. I struggle with semi autos but with revolvers Iím good to go. My 19-3 and 10-7 are right on. I do pretty good with my 36, 442 and 637 too.

One thing the 642 hammer only seems to hit the lower half of the firing pin but iíve never had an issue.

Default

That's a lot of space to collect lint/allow other stuff to find a way into the action with that 642 hammer there.
