I remember a grizzly senior FBI man about 30 yrs ago who used one with a S&W J frame outfitted with a Tyler. That was his visible go to gun when he needed fast access to iron. His primary gun he carried strong side on his hip. I think this is that era when the Barami was most in vogue as the latest accessory.
Me as just a casual observer & non LEO but a gun guy, to me he was a lawman looking for an edge to stay alive & retire. Any slight advantage real or imaginary he was going to have that edge on his side.

Yes it gives you instant access and if you ask me, that is an unbeatable feature.
