Buy one of those cheapo plastic glocks and hang it the shower.
on theghighroad in the 2001-2004 days, the rage was to have a "gun on a rope" in your shower when you shower. Keep it in a heavy duty plastic bag hanging from a hook in the shower.

And alot of that talk was not people making fun of the Gecko45 days, but things they were actually doing. I almost miss those days.

It actually would be awful fun to do a model of a tactical wheel barrow.

For me... day to day life is my scenario. Being armed is simply being ready (the best you can) and not being an automatic victim.

Because I can. Because I want to. Because this is America.

The really true logical thing is, I want the odds in my favor of surviving day to day and going home. We live in an increasingly unstable world, full of unstable people. People get hurt or killed doing just normal activities. Even shopping. That's why I don't do malls.

I don't carry to be a "hero" or protect others. I'm not a cop. Don't wanna be. If the situation arose, I'd do it, but personal protection and the protection of my family is my top reason.

I never leave the house unarmed.

For me:

1) Attending activities at my House of Worship.

2) Walking my dog late at night.

I think its worth coming back to your opening post. Here's how I see it. If those are situation where you (or anyone) think its most likely a scenario may unfold, then its worth taking the next steps preparation. This doesn't have to be full scenarios - to some extent those who poke fun at that idea are right. We can't plan what people will actually do.

Rather what I'm suggesting (and you may have already done so) is know the entrances and exit options, how people may move, where there is cover, etc, and maybe some ways you will respond depending on what the bad guy(s) are doing. We can save ourselves time if a sitation develops so we are not looking around for cover/exit/assistance but already know our options.

If you’re taking your family somewhere that you have to preplan to that degree, just don’t go . . .

Obviously I disagree with your premise. If one has already decided it is too dangerous a location to be, then one has already included an assesment of the physical environment and resources available.

The premise here is that a person has already decided its prudent to have a firearm on hand for self-defense for a relatively low probablity event. Every group I have worked with has an emergency plan in case of accident on-site. Its an unlikely event, but when using dangerous tools or working with fire, it includes more than just having a first aid kit or fire extinguisher. It includes knowing how to call, who to call, how to get out, and knowing where the nearest trauma center is. Even when working alone - maybe especially so - if say I'm welding, I have the fire extinguishers so they are along routes toward an exit, not in a dead corner. Its just completing the circle.

Well.... any time I leave the Compound and venture into the Twilight Zone beyond farm territory. It's not that there aren't good Americans out there, but you just never know.

What scenarios do you keep a spare tire in your vehicle? What scenarios do you have a fire extinguisher handy?

Thanks for noticing, Soldier. Yes, there is a definite outbreak of several zombie-like strains across the country, most with similar symptoms, such as seeking shock-value through language or accosting Right-Thinking Americans as they go about on personally authorized and financed missions outside of the wire.

It's good to make fun of them whenever possible but the threat we are all under from our own gov't, something people would never think was possible just a few decades ago, is as real as it gets. Suddenly conspiracy theorists are the smart guy in the room.

No one says it better than Trump:

I don’t feel the need to carry. I turned the news off long ago so my level of paranoia is low. In my 52 years I’ve never witnessed a violent crime. The odd drunken scuffle, sure, but no one got shot because there were no guns around fortunately. Or stabbed…
Maybe I’m one of the odd few here on the forum?
I just don’t see myself as a person ready to point and shoot.
But… hopefully I will stay lucky in that way. I can only speak for myself.
Love my collection of SW’s though.

1) Being in a world of improperly raised idiots.
2) walking in javelina country
3) defending myself from aggressive glass bottles, bowling pins and other inanimate objects of opportunity

I never leave the house unarmed. As a public sector type of fella, I have worked with folks who would like for me to cease existence. More importantly, I know horrific things about the courts and criminal justice in my state. To the point I know of too many evil people who SHOULD be incarcerated for life...but aren't.

Not to be overly dramatic. I generally live in a safe town in a safe state. As much as I would love to die a hero of some sort I expect to die clutching my chest and crapping my pants like most men. But knowing what I know of the criminal element and a broken court system, and loving my family as deeply as I do, the stakes are too high to leave it to chance.
