If this post is in the wrong place, I apoligize. What products are being or will be produced initially at the new factory?

GREAT!! Now let's hope they FINALLY get their "stuff" together and produce firearms we can all be proud to own and buy. The last decade has been disastrous embarrassment for them! Hopefully in TN they will have a larger and more ethical work force pool to choose from. At the end of the day, it comes down ti the people doing the work. Of course the CEO, COO and department managers will set the tone.

I'll be the first to complain about S&W's quality control, but there are MANY S&W revolvers produced in the last decade that are worth owning. You just have to check them out properly before taking them home!

As I understand it, revolver production will remain in Massachusetts... ![Frown](https://smith-wessonforum.com/images/smilies/frown.gif) ...Ben

Saying what I truly feel about this comment will most assuredly get me suspended for life.

My father told me that when Lockheed built a plant in Marietta, GA, they went through 3 times the number of machinists they needed before they got a fully competent work force. Not speaking ill of the folks down there, the same situation pretty much exists everywhere.
OK, CNC machining centers have pretty much replaced hands on machinists, but the setups still have to be correct and the end product checked regularly to make sure everything's still in proper adjustment.
Having said that, maybe the new plant will start with all new machinery, which might be a good thing. But, will they have the setup folks and the CNC techs? Waay back when, the Cincinnati Milacron school was 18 months for the techs.
