A favorite carry gun out of the rotation
Well my Sig 1911 C3 will be going back to the factory tomorrow. For those unfamiliar with them it's basically a commander length slide on an alloy officer's length grip frame. A lot of the commander length Sigs have had issues with the barrel bushing making contact with the barrel. I pulled mine apart and checked it last night and I'm getting some peening on the barrel where the bushing has been making contact with it.
So today I went back to carrying my Smith 1911Sc "commander". It's a great carry piece, but after about 20 minutes of driving in the car I was really wishing for the shorter grip frame and the thin grip panels of my C3. I'm just hoping Sig doesn't screw up my C3 up trying to "fix" it. It's been reliable and accurate. I'm also thankful that I have a similar gun to replace it with in the holster.
