Favorite 9mm carry gun?
Forget Glocks. Too bulky. For my money, I like the Smith 3913. Slim, totally reliable and accurate. Many knowledgeable people call it the best pistol S&W has ever made.
Here's mine, a 3913NL with tritium sights. I can even wear it using a "Thunderwear" holster with dress slacks, and it doesn't print.
What's your choice, if limited to a 9mm?

The MP9c works for me, usually in my DeSantis (S&W), OWB with a shirt hanging over.

Paladin, My new favorite 9mm CCW is my 3913NL, just like yours. However I just ordered a set of black grips from S&W for mine. Just not crazy about the grey or the hogue they came with.

I don't have one, but a P7M8 would be right at the top of my list if I were to carry a 9mm.

I carry either my s&w 940 (9mm centennial j-frame) or my kahr k9. I love em both, but the k9 is one of the easiest to shoot compact nines out there.

That's my favorite 9mm of all time..but our dept. doesn't allow single actions....and if I didn't have the P7, the 3913 would be my next choice...I've thought of switching to the lighter 3913 but I have too much expensive leather for the P7 and I don't want to wait 2 years for new Del Fatti rigs...

Kahr P9 Covert or a customized BHP are my favorites for concealed carry and the Beretta 92 or S&W M&P for open carry. If I could only have one, it would be the Kahr. I think its the most size efficient pistol for the 9mm cartridge. Mine has been 100% reliable and is easy to carry and conceal.

The best auto-loader S&W has ever made? Isn't that like saying "the best team the Detroit Lions have ever fielded??"
I am obsessed with S&W revolvers but I dare say their auto-loaders have never impressed me. The M&Ps are pretty cool, but they still haven't been around long enough for me to render a judgment.
Thick, ugly, call it what you will--the Glock 19 is arguably the best pistol ever made, 9mm or otherwise.
After that, in 9mm, the Browning Hi-Power, then the CZ-75.
If we're talking about revolvers, of course it's S&W all the way.

No question about thick and ugly but the best pistol ever made??????????
My vote goes to HK USP 9mm when carrying a 9mm, but for me a single stack 1911 pistol in .45 ACP is my go to gun........

Kahr E9. The 39 would be a good choice but I have to get some of the bugs out of mine before it gets hung in a holster.

To be honest, I'm not too fond of any of the S&W auto loaders. I am a huge wheel gun fanatic but just because I love one product line of a company doesn't mean its going to cloud my judgement. With some of the S&W 1911's being the only exception, I think most the auto loaders S&W makes are plain ugly. The M&P series of polymer guns are extremely reliable, but so are Glocks, H&K, Kahr and many other brands that didn't wait up until now to start producing them. The M&P autoloaders are not exactly a stunning breakthrough in technology, its based on similar concepts of the Kahr and Glock. If I was to buy an autoloader, why would I buy one from S&W when I could buy a Glock that has all of the bugs worked out and has a HUGE variety of aftermarket parts??

I only have two carry guns and both are 9mm
I would pick my Kel-tec only because I can carry it in my pocket for the best CC. I also carry my stigma around depending on my mood.

Lately it's been my CZ 75D P-01. Great accuracy for a carry 9mm.

For pocket carry, it's the Kahr PM 9.
For OWB/IWB, it's my STI Rogue.

I like this PPS. It's light, slim, has no safety, sits low in the hand, is relatively inexpensive, and pretty accurate at rapid fire.

Well mine is a .40 rather than 9mm but they are made in 9mm, Sig 239. Mine is the second generation SAS and I carry it quite a bit. After an expensive trial and error process of trying to find the "perfect carry gun", I've found that the 239 fits the bill for me. For me the perfect carry gun was something inbetween a j-frame in the pocket and a 5" 1911 on the hip. While the 239 is heavier and lacks the capacity of the Glock 23 and HK P2000 that I owned before it, I shoot much better with it.

In a 9mm, it is almost always my kahr PM9. Every once in a while I'll sneak in my glock 26, but not often. The kahr just hides so easy and is so easy to carry that it is a natural for me.

As a few others I see posted - in hot weather pocket carry, my Kahr PM9. For holster carry, a HK P7 in a custom Haugen belt scabbard.

Back in the day when all we were allowed in autos were DAs, my choice was the S&W 3914. I have to agree that if one is going with a 9mm the 3913 and 3914 are excellent choices. Slim, compact, easy to carry and easy to conceal.
Of course when the rules changed I went with a 1911 in .45acp.
The 9mm is a decent round, but I've never really been a big fan. In an auto I much prefer the .45acp.
Today if I were stuck with a 9mm, it would be a Hi-Power.

I carry the 9mm exclusively. On my belt I carry a Model 3913. In my pocket or ankle holster, a Model 637 converted to 9mm moonclips by TK Custom.

My 940 is the only 9mm I'll ever own. Gotta love the revolvers that fire the autopistol cartridges.

I agree, the 3913TSW is a very fine carry pistol. I find it compact enough to carry, yet it is not cumbersome to handle in a large hand.

For me it would be either my 940 or Converted 642/942 Centennial revolvers..
If it came down to something Bigger that held more rounds then it would be my Model 547 S&W K Frame 9mm revolver.

Easy Call...
THe M39 is sure tempting... but no question now... If I had to carry a 9mm it would be a M&P 9c.
With about 45 min of trigger work these guns are fantastic...

Kimber Pro Carry II
My fav 9mm is my Kimber Pro Carry II. Carried in a UBG Canute holster it "disappears. AND it's a tack driver! However, if I had a G19, I might change my mind.

Since I've only ever owned one 9X19. And that one only since 08'. An M&P9c. 3K, with no jams with anything it's been fed and as accurate as anything I've ever carried, short of a 66 or 696.
(And this is from a 40+ year 1911' guy.)
(EDIT)
Also what I enjoy with this particular gun, is it's ability to be run with the 12(+1) when carried. But by using an inexpensive adapter, can run the full size gun's 17 round mag's for the reload.

For carry...#1 would probably be a 6906. I carried one for the last 9 years I was in LE and had my choice of any 9mm other than a SA like a 1911 or BHP. The only thing I changed were the sights. Went to the MMC Tactical Adjustable Night Sights in the Bar-Dot-Bar pattern.
Runners up would be:
Kimber Ultra or Pro Aegis
Colt Commander
Kahr CW9
I would like to include the 3913 but the slim grip never fit my hand well...

since they started making them either a 686 or my favorite revolver mode - 15 in mag with one in pipe - Browning BDM - never even fire in pistol mode - has been set on revolver mode since 1996 -
do y'all remember these?
