I was following this gent's sale ad for a Tyler #6 Python T grip in the Accessories sub forum for about 2 weeks.
Either late last night or early this A.M.I replied in the ad I'll take it.
Today I get a reply from him that he already sold it on another forum and failed to update his ad here:
" I was going to mark it as soon as I found that I sold it on another site"

To be fair, he offered me the Tyler #1 grip for free but I'm not interested.
He then edited his ad to reflect Sold, as he should have done in the first place.

Be careful when dealing with this gent as he failed to adhere to Forum rules and is unreliable

Default Tyler grip - Python

As stated the add was on this forum website for a few weeks. No reply’s so I posted it on another website. Buy the time realized it was sold on the other website this person make an offer to buy it.This was before I could mark it sold. He thought I scammed him. I DID NOT ! As soon as I learned the item was sold on another website, this person made an offer before I could mark it sold. Some other person marked it sold. I then offered him a
FREE Tyler T grip for a late J frame Smith plus four FREE T grips knock offs FREE. TOLD HIM I WOULD EVEN PAY POSTAGE.He declined my offer. Everyone on this forum can decide for themselves…..

As moderator in the Classified section, I'll make an exception and weigh in here. I was the person who marked the ad SOLD and closed it. As the rules state, if we notice an item is sold, we will go ahead and close the ad. In this case, I saw member Malysh's post stating he would buy the item, so I marked the ad **SOLD** and closed it.

I did not think you were a scammer. I think you were lax adhering to the rules.

In his P.M. replies, he uses his age as an excuse for not updating the ad, he's 75 (I'm 72), says he doesn't frequent the internet much, and also says somebody's always offended in an internet sale.
If he had posted SOLD in his ad, which is
required, I may have been disappointed but certainly not offended or angry.

I did not care for his excuses ( I didn't know I was supposed to mark it sold,
I'm 75 years old, etc.)
A sincere apology doesn't continue with but, and a string of excuses, following here with a deliberate muddling of the time line of the events.

I commend the guy for offering me
a free T grip but what I wanted was a prompt update to his ad and an apology without a bunch of excuses about not knowing the rules and being old

And, as our moderator marked the ad as SOLD, he never did update his ad.

FOLLOW THE RULES.

I gave facts, no lies, no excuses. Sorry it didn’t work out, sorry it happened. My offer still stands. Rod
