Your most "rare" gun???
The operative being somewhat subjective allow me to submit my Daisy 104, double barrel bb gun. It was my fathers from the 30's, we played with it in the sixties and I sent it back to Daisy in the 80's for a refresh. They (Daisy)no longer work on them. It's worth more than any one of my current (modest) collection of S&W's. Yours?

It would be this left handed 1911, the company said it's one of 52 made.
or maybe this Colt Shooting Master made in 1928. 38 Special.

It's a tossup. Either my 6.5" 29-1 in the clam shell case, or the 4" nickel 20-2 made for the Austin PD. I lucked into both, and feel very fortunate to own them. If anything ever happens to me, look for them in the Kull auction along with a few others. Momma knows how to get rid of them if she ever needs to.

Most likely it would be my S&W model 25 with a five inch barrel. Had it since the late 80s and never fired it.

Don't have any really rare ones, or even scarce ones but this circa 1928 Winchester Model 54 carbine in .30 WCF (.30-30) is pretty uncommonly encountered. The carbine version isn't too often seen and the .30-30 chambering was not popular within the Model 54 line, making the combination not often seen. Purchased from the original owner who took two deer side by side with it in Mexico in late 1928.
Forgot about this one that I picked up a few months ago. It likely is downright rare. A Helfricht Model 3 .25 ACP. The company was in operation in Germany from 1920 to 1929, making two different models of vest pocket .25s in small quantities. It wins the prize as the ugliest pocket automatic in my opinion.
Sure do like Joni Lynn's Colt Shooting Master .38!

My most rare
I don't know for sure, but I would think mine is relatively rare.
Colt Official Police marked to U.S. Customs and numbered from that agency # 429.

Well I really don't have anything rare, so I'll post a pic of the rare piece my buddy has that I'd love to put in my safe someday. It's a S&W Model 3 First American, three-digit serial number, numbers in the 400's. It's got the wrong front sight blade on it, but everything else is all original. He took it on trade for a plastic fantastic 9mm or whatever, giving the guy that traded it $350 he wanted to get out of it. It sat in the safe for about three years until he pulled it out to see what it actually was since he really hadn't looked it up at the time of the trade, he had just figured the old nickled Smith was worth at least the $350 in trade he had given. What a nice surprise to find out that it was worth somewhere over $10,000 or more....... Shoo

Yes both were in 270, one was a 'Classic' and the other a Deluxe. I won't miss either of them. I still have other Sako's and other rifles in 270 Win. (older Sako with the FN action in 270)

Model of 1911 U.S.NAVY. Issued 1913. complete and in pretty nice shape for a Navy side arm.
Sat in a Pacific Fleet Ship's Armory until Dec 7, 1941. Issued to a young officer with a courier pouch right after the attack. After the officer retired in the mid 70s he was asked why he kept the gun all those years. His reply..."They never asked for it back!"
It now resides with my Navy Victory, USN Mk1 knives and other USN goodies from WWI and II.

Mine is probably my first HK P7M8, which happens to be a "Park Police"
The "rare" US Park Police P7M8
Apparently a unique P7M8 ordered for the US Park Police, this P7M8 model has a "phosphate" finish,
and reportedly only 3 are in "civilian" hands.

My 'rare' piece would have to be a Winchester '92 in .32WCF (.32-20) made in the late '20's or so. The bore is like new, the blue is about 90% but the original varnish dried out and looked pretty bad so I put new Helmsman sparurethane finish on and it looks pretty darned good. It is a
point-and-shoot rifle.

After thinking about it, this one might be my most rare gun. It has an error in the way it was made. 617 with a 10 shot steel cylinder. It has 10 chambers but only 6 flutes around the outside.
Sorry about the poor quality of the photo.

Kimber Mo 82 S-Series 22 LR. Only 535 made and even fewer of them had the open sight package.
These supergrade rifles from 1981 pre-dated the later production SuperAmerica models

Disc camera went south and haven't mastered my wife's little one yet, much less discovered how to get a pic on the forum.

This factory engraved Colt 1851 Navy was carried by a Union Arm officer. I don't have the documents in front of me, but it was carried by Capt. John Lowry of the 107th Illinois Infantry, to the best of my recollection.

I've wanted one of those for the longest time... 52? no wonder I can't find one. I heard the Randall version wasn't that great a gun and Olympic Arms HAD made some (or at one time were going to), this is the first I've actually seen. Very cool.
I've got some guns that are supposedly "hard to find", but nothing rare like the ones posted.

We said rare, not most valuable, right?
OK, about 10 years ago my gunshow pard sold me a used prewar 3rd Model target 44 4". I knew it was unusual and not common. I thought it would make a good roommate with my other 3rd models, and my postwar 3rd target. The price wasn't all that high. So a few years ago I brought it to the gunshow for show and tell. Just for fun I put a price tag on it of $5000.
Lee wandered past, looked for a minute, then said I'd better hide that gun or someone else would be taking it home. As time wore on, I was watching a transaction at David Carrolls tables. The other known example was changing hands for $22,000. His was much better, to say the least. Its now in Jim Fishers stable, and not for sale.

I don't have anything as nice as some of you all have. My humble entry is a S&W 10-13 and a Winchester M70 Lightweight in 7mm Mauser. I have no idea how many of the 7mm Mausers they made so it may not be that rare.

That is a nice Colt Model 1905 Dave. I have one of those that more relic grade. It is great to see an example of what it once looked like.

Probably my Mauser 98K refurbished in Yugoslavia at the Radionica 124 facility, the location of which is unknown. I know of fewer than ten in the US.
The real kicker is that I bought it from an online auction from one less than helpful picture. I thought I was getting the usual Russian rebuild.

I have several that are pretty rare, but none of them are all that valuable.
Below is an R.J. Braverman folding revolver in .32acp. Shown with a .25acp Braverman Stinger folding Pen Gun.
The Pen Gun isn`t all that rare, but I believe the revolver to be a tool room sample of a gun that was never produced commercially.
A pair of D-Max Sidewinder revolvers. I think only a couple of thousand were made before they were bought out by Magnum Research.
The top one is an L5 model in 45-70. serial # L2x
The lower on is a standard model in .45 colt/ 3" .410. serial # 20x
A Benelli B80 in .30 Luger.
I think only a few of these were ever imported to the US. It`s identical to the model B76 9mm except for the caliber.

Do parts count?
I have in my possession a part that was my late fathers. He collected single-shot rifles and he always liked Highwall Winchesters. In his parts collection is a lower tang for a Highwall that is only about 15 numbers off from the highest serial number put on one of these rifles. Wish he could have obtained the rest of it.

I believe Colt only made a few hundred (or less) DS II's with 3" barrels.
My Officers Model Match MK III, one of only 496 produced.

Two ancient Alaska bear guns. One is a Model 12 Winchester long, long ago cut down to 18" and reblued. It left the factory in 1919. The other, that I purchased with it, is a Remington Model 11, also cut, that's so old it has the old trigger safety. Since these amused me, I picked up a sporterized 1917 Eddystone from Alaska at the same time. Probably common enough up there, but I likely own the only two old Alaskan bear guns in the South Carolina lowlands....

Probably this one. (It's the only one I've ever seen other than in books.)

I have a police version of a .351 Winchester 07. It is in close to mint condition and has "Property of Kentucky State Police" engraved on the side of the receiver. I also have 2 - 10 round and 1- 5 round magazines for it.

Rare? Nope, not a one. Unless you count a Ruger Mk II Target, Ruger GP-100, or a Glock 17 as rare!
Yeesh, you guys make me feel not worthy to be on this forum! Great guns folks.
