I only own one. Picked up a NIB RIA Match a couple of month's ago from a friend. Still breaking it in. Less that 200 on the round count. So far so good. Haven't had a 1911 in years.

I picked up an Ithaca 1911A1 in the late 70's or early 80's. It's one of the few firearms that I've kept that long.

I own "only" two .45 Auto's.
One is the nice and handy Glock Model 36 with an adj. rearsight and a 3"-barrel. That "baby" is very accurate at 50 meters. (54.5 yards)
But my favorite .45 auto is my Tecnema TCM - 2 Master with adj. rearsight and a 5"-barrel. What a gun!!

You're either enamored with Dylan or Donizetti or both

Ding-Ding-Ding-Ding-Ding We have a winner!
Hey Bob,
Although I do like one of Donizetti's operas ("Lucia di Lammermoor"), the spelling points to Dylan doesn't it.
Yep, though not "enamored" with Dylan, it sort of tied together with the name of they guy I bought the pistol from, and the name "Don Pasqualli" just sort of "suggested itself" to me.
Good goin'

P.S. Hey, where should I send your quarter to? Or can I just give it to you the next time I see you?

I don't have any high priced 1911's, just a couple of Springers and a Colt. I do love my first Spinger, a GI

If favorite means the one I've shot the most...it would have to be this EGW built single stack that I shot in USPSA competition for a number of years.
If favorite means the one I carry...then this mildly customized Colt Lightweight Commander would be the choice.
If, on the other hand, "favorite" is determined by the one I would never part with under any circumstances, then my choice would be none other than this Remington Rand 1911-A1 that was carried by my father during WWII.

Grock 21. 2nd Gen, covered with stair-tread tape, still a wee bit of glow in the 18 year old Trijicons.
Smyrna rebuilt it free after a slamfire (previous owner, the ubiquitous Deppity Bubba, apparently did the two things the manual says not to) and updated it completely.
It is seriously fat and ugly but I shoot it well, for me anyways.
Regards,
Pat

I recently picked up an FN P in 45 ACP. FN, as in FN Hi-Power? Very nice weapon, very nice.
Mine is either DA/SA or cocked & locked, your choise.
Overall it is a little wider, a little taller and a little shorter than a 5 inch 1911. Weighs one ounce more than an all steel 1911. Holds fifteen.
Feeds & fires very well.

i like my x-d .45 compact, but love my kimber pro carryII. neither one will replace my 442 or 60 as the every day companion. kimbers can be a little ammo sensitive, so a polishing is mandatory for feed ramp and chamber. shoot straight, and keep your powder dry!

Dad taught us about revolvers when our voices dropped or about 12 years old. He was LE and didn't go for automatics or allow his officers to carry them. He felt they were a danger to officers and family that didn't use them often enough to be safe. Probably reenforced by the FBI-NA in 1957.
So when my eyes became old enough to require bifocals the MRS and I decided to acquire some automatics and become proficient with them.
This is the year of the 1911 and I wanted a Gold Cup. We ended up with a Colt MK IV series 80 that I think has been customized and looks like a Kimber. It shoots really great and has sorry sights for my eyes. Then came a Sig 1911 STX that is my favorite. Shot it today at the range and loved it. The Sig 1911 TTT predated this 2008 STX and was the Hand Gun of the Year in 2004 by the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence. That is what their book says anyway. Makes no matter I like it and the night sights as well.
