Default New finds: Smiths and Rugers

Since these encompass several time periods and a different makes I decided to post this here.
I've been lucky enough over the last month or so to acquire some new items. A couple have been on my short list for a long time, others are just nice to have. All are in top notch shape - 98%+.
Much thanks to a couple forum members for making this possible.
Hope you all like them as much as I do:

Model 31-1. A lil' Pimp'n gun the way it's set up but came with period correct stocks. I kinda like it with the MOP service stocks. The knife is a 1950's/60's vintage that (believe it or not) used to be carried by my Mother. Dear old Mom could be a handfull when cornered:

A short lister, one I've been wanting for a long time, a fine example.
Model 27-2 with 3 1/2" barrel, came without box, but one can't have it all, try as we might.

Another one I've been waiting for, a Model 28-2 6" barrel, original box and stocks as near NIB as I could wish for:

This one just happened along but I couldn't say no, just too fine. Model 27-2 Nickle 6" barrel. Came with a display case that surprisingly wasn't degraded, plus all paperwork.

An old friend, Pre Model 18, 5 screw. Original stocks. Within days of being sold this the dealer was calling me up wanting to buy it back. No such luck:

Another old buddy, from our Member in Tullahoma. A 4 screw Pre K-22. Came with original stocks but wearing a nice set of non relieved Targets:

This one I found in a pawn shop here in Chattanooga. They had no idea what it was, paid about 1/2 what it was worth. Man, that felt good!
Ruger Old Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt. Non modified, with, i think a set of faux Ivory's. S/N indicates 1972 manufacture. Knives are period correct Case XX:

Another Ruger. A new introduction Blackhawk .44 special 4 3/4" barrel, built on the .357 frame. This was just too fine to walk away from. Buds Guns is hard to beat:

Finally one that you don't see much. This is a factory folding stock Ruger Mini14. Oddly not a GB, you'll find more GB's than the factory folding stock models. No bayo lug nor flash suppressor. This has been verified by Ruger as having left the plant as such. Not a later add on modification:

Thanks for looking.

That 27 3-1/2" almost got me drooling. Nice ammo box collection too.

You must not be married, or you have a VERY understanding wife.

The mini 14 has a Falcon folder stock on it. The rifle was available from the factory with that option but Ruger didn't make the stock. I bought a blue mini 14 and put a blue Falcon on it. That setup was one of the strongest folders I've encountered. I bought mine "preban" so I put a M14 style flash suppressor with a bayo lug on it. That is one of those "wish I still had" guns on my list.

I actually am married, been so for going on 30 years. I do have a wonderfully understanding Wife. Long ago she accepted the fact that she was married to a collector of guns and knives, as long as I don't collect 'junk' she's good with it. I brought home a pre model 40 Centennial with 4 digit S/N that was rugged at best, wanted it for a knock around pocket gun, her only comment was "Why did you buy THAT?". I'll fight a buzzsaw to keep her!
JcMack, there was some question about the underfolder being factory original when I bought it, a call to Ruger verified it was shipped with the shown stock.
From what I've been able to learn Falcon stocks where made inhouse by Ruger then I believe (but could be wrong) that the design was sold. The ones made by Falcon are stamped into the wood as such. This one has no stamping. Also, never having seen a Falcon stock, i've been told that they had an early Colt SP1 type handgrip. This one is a smaller more compact form.
Not being a Ruger collector, I could be off on some of that but it is verified by the factory.
Thanks all, I'll post more pics later, that was just a few of them.
RD

Forgot this: On the Mini 14 stock, the dead giveaway on the aftermarket stocks, as I've been informed, is that the front sling swivel is on the bottom of the gas block, originals were on the left hand side.

Like this one on a blue Mini factory folder like yours. You can see half the swivel at the bottom in this pic.

You have a top shelf collection of firearms. Well done!

Well....It's been a long time since I traded that gun on an AR. All I remember is my buddy had a FFL and he got the mini 14 for me, I think about $450 new. Then he ordered the Falcon folder for $150. I thought the folder was a lot of money until I received it. Real quality item, that locked open and closed (via that locking stud) with "integrity". A bit bulky when closed compared to wire folders, but worth every penny.

Very Nice guns and Case folders, The Mini 14 looks like it means business.

I've got a stainless ranch mini that I after fitted with a factory folder I got from a deputy. The frind swivel is not on the stock but on the gas block assembly. That is how you can tell the ones that came from the factory with the folder from those with an after aquired one. At the time the deputy got mine, they had run out of stainless ones so mine is blued. One of these days I'm gonna sent it to Birdsong to get coated. It definately adds a "cool" factor to the mini and is really quite comfortable to shoot with the pistol grip. Put a Williams Peep sight on it and I've got my 100 yard minute of pie plate SHTF gun
