Default A strange old gun

An acquaintance sent me a pic of this in hopes of finding out what it is. I don't know him that well, but he told me he has a friend who owns a pawn shop and someone left it there. I almost think I am being taken on a snipe hunt. Here it is:

Webley made a semiautomatic revolver. It came out about the time the semiautomatic pistol appeared, making the revolver "obsolete", and cutting the market out from under the semiauto revolver.

I've done some research on the Webley. This thing doesn't look anything like it. I'm not sure this thing is even real.

It might be a good photoshop job, but there were others trying to make modern revolvers. Are there any markings on it?

Here is the Webley (Webley-Fosbery)

The one he has pictured is something else - and I don't know what it is!

Peace,

It's a Browning Model A 6.35 cal pocket revolver. the little lever in front of the cylinder is a French type extractor.

Looks real to me. I guess it's in 25 ACP and have Belgian or possibly Spanish proof marks. This is a closed auction so I don't think it violates any rules. SPANISH FOLDING TRIGGER .25 ACP REVOLVER C&R OK ! : Curios and Relics at GunBroker.com

Note the similarities in cylinder and loading gate. In my opinion this is a revolver made to look like a semi-auto. Lever in front being the cylinder pin and maybe even the hint of a fake magazine in the grip..

I can find no info on a Browning Model A. If you have info, I would appreciate it.
The gun in the link does have some similarities. Especially the shape of the frame. Thanks.

you probably won't as it's and obscure pistol related to the Velo Dog. Made by Auguste Francotte and Companie of Liege Belgum for FN. It's listed on page 153 in The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Hand Guns by A.B. Zhuk published by Greenhill Books in 1997 ISBN 1-85367-259-9

Take a look at the artistry in the design and shape of the trigger and guard. Beautiful!
