Yes, they sure are.

A few years ago in one of my LGS, I drooled over the 7.62x39mm version for about 20 minutes. It had the makings of a perfect little woods rifle for deer, but that was about the time I was pretty much giving it up so didn't feel like I should spring for it.

I have enough (too many, really) rifles, but have thought now and then that this should have been one of them.

Welcome aboard, Giz!

I just got all my reloading and casting material for mine (7.62 X 39)yesterday, dies, bullet mold, 100 pieces of virgin brass, 300 projectiles (soft point and FMJ), I'll have a pet load nailed down for it by the end of the week!

I will find a super lightweight, compact fixed 4X scope for it to use for bullet testing, but otherwise intend to use the iron sights. I've put about 100 Federal American Eagle FMJ through mine, it loves that round. I hope to duplicate the accuracy of the Federal with my handloads....

Great rifles!

Hoping to test drive mine, later this morning. What a handy little gun this is. The fact that they come with a single set trigger is a big plus. I am used to shooting with double set triggers...and this is a improvement.

Iron sights and off a bench rest. 100 yard. The flyer was the first fooling shot. Wish I put that one into the Herm. The next three were all pretty close...

You guys are late jumping onto the CZ wagon, but better late than never! The third one from the top was traded and replaced with a HS Precision stock .223 Varmint. Carbines in 7.62x39mm made after 2002 have chambers cut to tighter tolerances than the previous versions. The early chambers are sort of sloppy. The last two digits of the year of DOM appear on the RH side of the barrel and receiver just above the stock. I bought my carbine in 2003, turned out mine was NOS made in 2000. My carbine is partial to Lapua ammo.

This one is from last year's hunt. My biggest dear ever (keep in mind I'm in TX ). Not the first for my CZ 527 in 7.63X39. I've taken more deer with this rifle than any I've ever owned. Very accurate and the short length makes it a joy to shoulder from a blind.

I don't reload (yet) and this year I tried some Parvi round nose soft points. I'm very happy with this load. It shoots MOA and had no trouble dropping this buck on opening morning.

I have a couple of other CZ rifles and they are all outstanding in the accuracy category.

I like my 7.62X39 a lot, but if I could trade it for one of my old 788s in .308 and 7mm-08, I'd do it without hesitation. I think the CZs are acceptable, but not all that great.

Thumbs up

I took a chance and purchased this one used. My first and only CZ rifle. I added the scope and it helped accuracy for 100 yard sight-in. The set-trigger and bolt action was the sold factor for me.
