Default Russian Pistol ID's Wanted

YouTube - ‪

Watch this and ID the last two pistols. I know about the first. The last looks like it may be a new Russian service pistol?

Do any of you speak Russian? (I think this is Russian.)

Thanks,

T-Star

Don't know what they are, but I'll bet his ears are still ringing!

That's what I'm thinking. Be nice to know, and to know what he says about it.

It probably won't be imported here, but it looks like an interesting gun.

I thought the rounds looked larger than 9mm, possibly more like a 40 S&W? If it's like the Russian target pistols I have, the exterior finish is lacking, but the insides are great. Most Russian guns are overbuilt with excellent barrels and triggers.

I believe the second is the new OTs-23 and the third is the OTs-27. The OTs-27 is semiauto. The OTs-23 has a selector; safe, semi, and three shot burst.

Thanks. Is either adopted by the Russian army or police?

A Serbian friend who speaks some Russian said that she'll take a look at the video soon. (She has to finish writing a term paper first.) And I know a Georgian who is fluent in Russian, but she's no longer on the message board where we met. I'll try to get her on Facebook and see if she'll listen to it. But my Facebook posting skills are pretty limited. I wrote on one girl's "wall" once (the Serb) , instead of sending a private message. I try to avoid Facebook. I even have trouble signing-in there, probably because I do it so seldom.

I wonder if the OTs- 27 might be imported here?? What's the current status of Russia in the US gun trade? I think I heard that He Whose Name Must Not Be Spoken Here has banned Russian guns. Are Makarovs still imported from there?

Off hand, I don't know if they have been adopted by the military or police. Usually Spetsnaz or Alpha will get new weapons first. When the Grach was adopted, Spetsnaz get the first ones.

Personally, I would love to get my hands on an OTs-23, because that has a "happy switch".

I don't know what the importation situation is under The Anointed One, but I hope things will change after 2012. I know the Russian Makarovs have to be modified with adjustable rear sights. East German Makarovs come in without any modifications, and I think they are made better.

I thought that the Russians had the "Garch" now? It's a hi-cap 9mm NATO piece from what I remember.
I think J&G has some Bulgarian Maks right now, as well as CZ82s, and some Walther P-1/P.38s! Dale

Thanks, What's a Grach?

BTW, I had a Czech watch the video, but the languges are so different, she could make out only three words. (Gun, cartridge, caliber. But she doesn't know which caliber.) The Serb should try soon. I'll remind her.
