When the thread title said overdone riot gun I thought it was going to be one of those survivalist jobs with a picatinny rail, optic sight, flashlight, bayonet, and other junk hanging off it all over the place; weighing a ton and making it pretty much useless for quick target acquisition.
Pleased to be wrong. That thing is very nice looking. Much prettier than my 870 Wingmaster Sheriff's office trade-in.

The ivory grip cap does add a bit of weight
I also BBQ'd up my 870:
This is how I got it:
Here it is all duded up:

I bet the screw holding it in weighs nearly as much as the ivory.
You did the checkering? You have WAY more patience and fine motor control than I! That's gorgeous.

Actually, I believe that is a model 1 Ithaca Flash Mob gun. Something all shop owners should keep under their counter.

I refinished the wood with sandpaper and Tru-Oil.
I scarfed up the old Hy-Gun pad on eBay.

No adjustable length pistol grip stock?
No $500 200 lumen tactical flashlight?
No laser?
No rails?
No heat shield (For those protracted HD battles)?
No sling?
No tritium ghost ring sights?
I like it! Here's my un-tacticool Win 1300.
Not as pretty as yours. My LGS has an older Mossberg 500 with wood furniture that makes me

Is that pistol grip cap ivory?
If it's real or not. It doesn't matter. It DOES add that little something that's just great. I love it!
