Does this count? It is a second model 455 rechambered for 45 Colt. The barrel has been cut, and an oddball front sight added. It does shoot good and the action is smooth as butter.

Old Smith and Wesson topbreak .38, bbl was cut, recrowned and left shiny at the muzzle to make the hole look bigger. Shotgun bead front sight, J frame grips and Duracoated.

Cheap gate loading pre GCA 68 .32 SW Long revolver with modified D frame Colt grips fitted.

Now those are things that you don't see every day. Solemn nod.

70 series Colt customized by Kings in the late 70's. The combat carry 1911 from back in the day.

What exactly is "Combat Customized"? What parts are replaced or tuned up?

It's more or less in the eye of the beholder. Like customizing cars...everyone has their own tastes.

This 1917 Colt .45ACP has a similiar front sight to many others I've seen and I suspect it was part of a batch cut down and advertised in the '50's. The real custom feature on this gun is the action job someone did on it. An old retired cop occasionally carried this gun. A hacksaw and an action job and now it's one of my favorites. That isn't a satin finish. It's just bare metal.

I'm a big fan of guns that have been customized for carry and use. I like to see peoples takes on what is needed in a "fighting" gun, whether they're one off guns that someone did themselves or commissioned a 'smith to build for them, or custom shop guns built specifically with carry and defensive use in mind.

I've got a few that I think fall into that "Combat Custom" category -

Colt 1991A1 Compact w/full Clark Custom "Meltdown" package

Detonics CombatMaster customized by Dietrich Gunsmithy

Austin Behlert custom S&W 25-2

Charter Arms/Mag-na-port "Backpacker" .44spl

9mm (9x23) S&W 360J customized by Pinnacle High Performance

S&W PC 586 L-Comp modified and refinished by Dietrich Gunsmithy

S&W 1917/1937 Brazilian, old custom, don't know who did the work

S&W 29-10 Mag-na-port Custom, just bought this one, picking it up later today
