A Suppositary Gun...
Normally, it is a Flintlock that gets posted.....
But there other weaknesses, that sometimes take over...
My old Varmint gun... In 22-250. Fully engraved receiver, some on the barrel and bolt. Trigger guard and floorplate are also done up. Jewelled bolt and mag follower...

Very nice Giz but then you always post nice guns. I might be just a little jealous. Don

I thought it was some kind of new medical device to replace the tried and true insertion method...

One that requires a primer directly in-line with the main charge.

One that loads from the back end rather than the front... cartridge vs muzzleloader. Kinda looks like this.....

Thanks. I understand what the OP meant now. Even so I had never heard them referred to as suppository guns. Live and learn. Thanks Giz.

Beautiful gun, but soppisitary is spelled suppository, just so you will know how to ask for the one that you don't want!

Giz, very handsome set-up, no matter what the proper generic name for it might be.
Please indulge a question from a short-range guy: just how distant a large burrowing rodent could you drop with that rifle?
Or maybe it's a little more objective to ask at what distance would you consider the solid hit/near miss scenario to be a 50/50 proposition?

With a 55 Grain bullet at 3600 fps is shooting very flat out to 250 yards. +1.3" at 100 yards, +1.5" at 135 yards, +0.6" at 200 yards, -1.5" at 250 yards.
At 300 yds it is still at 600 foot pounds of energy.
