That's really a great find. Thanks for sharing.
Just curious....how does it compare in size with a detective special??

In response to Woods, here are a few size comparison pictures:
Cobra on the top of the Lawman
Cobra (same frame as the Detective Special and Agent) and Lawman
Lawman and Colt Official Police
Small framed it isn't!

Nice example and you don't find many of them around these days.

Now to find a quality OWB right hand holster for it and a double speed loader pouch that isn't too bulky. Any hints?

The dagger is a limited edition made by Kershaw and is called a Trooper; came in a glass fronted display case.

cwo4uscgret,
Nice weapon, and the early version without the ejector rod housing. I bet that will make it desirable for resell in the the future. I think those are definitely a bit rare.
If you go to the Colt Forum and search "Revolvers" you will find a nice discussion of the 2 inch MKIIIs.
I suggest a visit to ebay for leather. I recently bought a good holster for my Lawman MKIII there. It was the brand made in Paraquay?? Nice leather with a tight fit. It was the model listed for a 2 1/2 inch M686.
Here's a pic of mine factory NIB with all the paperwork. And Yes, I am going to shoot it.

Semperfi - I have a brand new (almost, in the box, all papers, maybe 1 magazine of ammo shot through it) Colt Govt Model MkIV in .38 Super. In addition to shooting it I use it as a platform for my .22 Colt conversion unit. Even rarer are the Coonan Model B and Coonan Cadet that were unfired when I bought them from a collector - not a shooter by his own admission. I readily corrected that; guns are after all, meant to be shot.
I also have an old nickel plated S&W Model 1-1/2 .32 S&W short that I've shot, it is from the 1880s.
Thanks for the advice about the ColtForums, I belong there (same name) and about the holsters. My local gun shop carries that line but I have a few old holsters that fit the gun.
He's known as Rob, RJ, and a few other user name but there is a fellow from NY how sells quality old (and some NOS) holsters and generally has some good deals; I buy reguarly from him and just bought some holsters that should work for the Lawman Mk III.
