Black plastic and aluminum rifle and pistol combination (pics)......
Found a good deal on a Rock River AR type 9mm carbine at my local gun shop, rifle came with seven very expensive magazines. Put it on layaway, got it out over the Christmas holidays, and so far have spent several pleasant hours with it at the range. It is fortunate that 9mm ammunition has come down in price, as this rifle will go through some in a hurry.
The Glock 17 pistol makes a nice companion piece for it as does the Thompson sub-gun magazine pouch to tote the magazines.
Now I know what you are thinking, .357 lever rifles and revolvers are prettier and pack a heavier punch, and you are right. This combo is strictly a fifty yards or less affair, the 9mm round is heading for the ground pretty quick after 50 yards, but it is still fun to shoot.
I plan on using this rifle and pistol in IPSC "Three Gun" competitions this coming season, 9mm caliber to keep costs down....

I've got a 9mm zombie kit. Lots of plastic but there isn't much aluminum. Both Rugers so the mags interchange.

The Ruger 9mm carbine is one of the better firearm purchases I've made. Don't care for the pistol itself, but aftermarket pistol mags runs flawlessly in the carbine, and it's dead-on accurate with stock iron sights. Heavy, but a great rifle nonetheless. Too bad Ruger discontinued it.

Here's a pair of black plastic fun. M&P15-22 and a Ruger 22/45 RP that CajunLawyer recommended.
Same caliber, same optic, share the same can and both will put a wide grin on ya.
