Default A Pair of SOLGW M4 76 13.7

Actually bought two of these.
Son's of Liberty Gun Works M4-76 13.7
One Angry Patriot & One Soul Snatcher
I originally bought the Angry Patriot for my daughter's 14th birthday. I really want her to know how to run a semi auto rifle. Also wanted a good one for her with a great warranty. I feel I did as good as I could've.
I liked her Angry Patriot M4 so well, that I bought a special edition Foxtrot Mike "Soul Snatcher " for myself. My brother & brother in law both have matching rifles with their son's so, I figured why can't I have a matching rifle with my daughter?
Glad I got em both. I've already installed a Triggertech Diamond Single Stage Trigger on my Soul Snatcher & will eventually install a LaRue MDT on my daughters Angry Patriot. Here's some pics of the Angry Patriot. Il probably do a thread on both

On a roll this week with Colts. Picked up a new Series 70 repro (the O1970A1CS) today. I had one years ago, but sold it to pay for a 3” 624. When I saw Colt was making the Series 70 repro again I grabbed it. I’m going to try to hang on to this one.

First Colt in a long time... 1903 Pocket .32 made in 1917. A little rough and ready, but I wanted a shooter and the price was right.

I bought one of the blue-gripped 4006TSWs off the big auction site. A few cosmetic flaws, but looks great inside, and shoots well. Not a bad deal for the price, though it brings me ever closer to the edge of the 3rd Gen rabbit hole.

That's a sweet Colt 1903, and one of the most fun little autos you will ever shoot. I understand why they were so popular, mine fits my hand like a glove.

I ended up with an old rusty Colt in 380, took a long time but it's a shooter now. Before and after pictures below along with my Nickel 32. By the way, that's the most complicated gun I ever tried to assemble, put one together and you will understand what a genius John Browning really was.

Wow, I would never had thought anyone could have restored that pistol! That must have taken a long time. What parts did you end up replacing?

This one came to me recently. {and it's new} My 1st Colt 1911. Haven't taken it to the range yet. Took off the blue grips and replaced them with vintage Colt. Bob

A few boxes of .308 Norma Mag ammo I found locally- I’ve long been a fan of the cartridge and while I reload for it, I snatch up factory stuff when I can.

It spent a lot of time in a vinegar solution and then Kroil, took forever it seemed just to get the old rotten magazine out and the slide to move. The magazine, and springs had to be replaced of course as you would expect, the ones in the grip might have been able to be reused but they were crusty and thin. The odd ones were the grip safety and the hammer, which broke right in half, must have been cast or some other type metal that the oxidation took a heavy toll on. Then I tried my hand at rust bluing the slide, frame and barrel, took about 10-12 coats but came out pretty smooth and a nice color, I figured what did I have to lose, came out nice. No way to ever get rid of all the pitting, it was very deep in some places especially on the frame. I smoothed out what I could, but I left it on the front of the grip, kind of a poor man's checkering :-)

First time I fired it I was wearing really thick gloves, safety glasses and a face shield. To my surprise, the function was smooth as silk, these are sweet little autos.

I finally got around to taking pictures of these two, a 1904 Winchester single shot .22 and a Winchester model 1906 Expert .22.

They are both over a hundred years old and both are still mechanically crisp and clean.

The new Expert is the top rifle.

The largest, heaviest handgun I own. Included a .45 Colt cylinder, as well. Been looking for one for years after I first shot one in the late 80's, and actually got all five BP rounds on the target at 15 yards.

I was browsing around online and found a Smith & Wesson M&P40c Like New in Box with 3 Magazines and fitted with Trijicon Night Sights for just $269.99, so I jumped all over that.

It will make an excellent new carry gun, a definite upgrade over the SW40VE that I've been carrying since 2019.

Got a Franchi Affinity Compact 20 gauge for my grandson today. Youth model shotguns are difficult to find where I live. I found two of these, one 260 miles away in South Georgia for $1,139.99 plus tax and another 34 miles away in Athens, Georgia for $899.99 plus tax. Guess which shotgun I bought.

Some 9mm ammo. M1193 "Reference" loads, made in 2017, acquired by SGAmmo. Half a case. Not cheap, but I have a case of new M1193 I bought from Sam, and this seemed like the icing on the cake. If I understand the description, this is what Winchester made (laboratory handloads?) to compare their military issue M1193 against, if there were any questions about quality. The 2017 issue is current with the history of the M1193 issue to our armed forces. The white box is what Winchester is selling the M1193 in - no military identity on the box.

Have a Mossberg Shockwave 12 ga. and a Tisas Stingray 9mm coming in tomorrow...

The Mossberg was used for a whole $280 delivered...I remember during the "Bad Times" when the same gun new was bringing close to a grand...

Bought the Tisas as I have a DW Guardian of which the Stingray is basically a clone but with a smooth frontstrap and ambi safety...just want to see what one gets in a 1911 for 1/3 the price...

I had the same question when I saw their US Army model on sale at the local Rural King. Turns out they make a very good pistol. It has been utterly reliable and will put GI hardball all in the black on a 25 yard B-8 target. I was issued plenty of pistols that would have had a hard time keeping up.

Turks have been building guns for a very long time. They can do a nice job when they want. I think you'd be hard pressed to find nicer for the money, especially their double shotguns.

After reading the reply to my inquiry in regard to 45 shield magazines, I ordered 11 7 Round genuine S&W magazines, so now I have an even dozen of those (in addition to the one 6 rounder, that came with my purchase). Next up,will be a Green laser, when they finally manufacture what I want.

An elderly friend that I’ve been buying guns from over the last three years called me to liquidate the last ones.
He’s been forced into smaller and smaller apartments with less storage space, due to properties being sold
This was his favorite upland gun, a 20 gauge 3” Charles Daly Superior Hunter O/U 28” barrels. It included a shell bag and 16 boxes of various shells.
Said he wanted it to go to me because I’d use it and not sell it and the price reflected that he wasn’t selling for the money - $500 with the shells and bag. He gave it a kiss as he handed it to me.
Another benefit of old age-having to rid yourself of cherished possessions.

CZ 75 Compact

Walther PPK S Interarms 1984 NIB

Mauser HSc .32

All three have come to me in the past year. The CZ from the LGS, the Walther from a Forum member, and the Mauser from my personal FFL out of an estate.

Recently bought a 4506-1, my first 3rd Gen in that caliber. Lightly used, with box, manual, accessories, and 4 mags. I've only had the chance to shoot it once, but I am impressed.

Though it is not in my hands as of this moment it will be in about 45 minutes....

About to go out and get an item I have been searching to obtain for quite a while. A local dealer just obtained from an estate sale a M1918 BAR. He says it is in perfect shape and after checking it out, is is fully functional best part is that since it was produced prior to 1986 it is still transferable. The price is well within my budget. And there is a range within an hour of where I live that will permit me to enjoy it in fully automatic mode.

They are more than fun to shoot...Although they turn a whole lot of money into a whole lotta noise in a short period of time. Get some extra mags. Thompson's are an awful lot of fun too. Congratulations

It came with 5 mags, and that should be more than enough. I am just happy that is uses the easy to come by .30-06 like my M1 Garand uses and not the .30 ball that my carbine's use, that stuff is hard to come by, and expensive.

Hmmmm now that you mention a Thompson, it looks like I will have, after I save up the funds, go hunting again.

A couple of 45 Colt "Cowboy 1875s" in the last couple of months.

That Schofield is a particularly delightful revolver. Instant "keeper" status.

Time will tell on the Remington clone.

Companion to my Ruger Old Army 45 Colt conversion. Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt, 4.6" barrel. Local dealer had it discounted $250 from MSRP - last one in stock - I couldn't say no.

S&W .32 Hand Ejector Third Model. A 6 shot .32 Long on the I frame, nickel plated, for $399. S&W Catalog values it at $700-800. Made around 1930. Gun shops seem to think a small .32 revolver is something to price cheap in order to move it quickly.
Three years ago I caught a Regulation Police in .32 Long at a local pawn shop for $350, in new in box condition. S&W Catalog 4th Edition says it is worth $800-1000.

Today’s Vegas show haul:

M63 2”
Colt DS 4th issue /w box and goodies. Possibly unfired.

It was an ok show, mostly dealers selling new guns and vendors selling miscellaneous stuff. There were a few other pieces that caught my eye, but I passed - didn’t want to be a gun hog.

Picked up a NIB JM Marlin 45-70 guide gun. I've been looking for a 357 lever for months. Not sure I did the right thing, ha, ha. It looks like it might be fun with some cowboy speed loads.

No brass to be had anywhere so shooting will have to wait.

Got this Galco holster, used, for my Glock 42. It is much nicer than any cheap pocket holster I've used in the past. It does require a bigger pocket.
