My second Model 19
Technically, it's on layaway..... but I found a S&W 19-4, 6" barrel, nickel finish, TH, TG, TS and an action job. This was an obviously well loved and cared for revolver. Had to fight Mr. KTP for it, but I bribed him with a BNIB M60, 2" (also on layaway), and a M19-3 4", blued (very nice used), that appeared at the same LGS 2 days later. Cannot wait to get it home and do some shooting.

Targets courtesy of Woot. They had a bunch of different styles, but they sold out quick. Half of retail price.
0.46 cents a round for 300 rounds.
For my new EDC 3913TSW.

As it sometimes happens these two followed my home last week. Both seem to have spent most of their lives in a sock drawer.
A flat latch model 36 and a 4" 10-2 that date to 1963-64.

Fellow at the range I go to brought out a box of stuff and asked if I'd be interested in buying some BP stuff. He knows I love black powder and casting. I've known the guy all of my life and he used to be an avid bullet caster and, reloader and BP shooter. He's 87 now and not so active anymore. I asked what he had and he started pulling stuff out starting with an old, 4 digit serial number, Navy Arms, 1858 Remington .44. It has a Uberti proof on the bottom of the barrel. The trigger is incredible. He did a fair job of dovetailing a front sight in and has tuned it for competition shooting. Hold it up to the light and there is zero light between the forcing cone and the cylinder. Locks up tight as a drum. No end shake. Lots of character. At one time a re-enactor must have owned it cause it has "42 N.Y. Co K carved into the bottom of the grips. Also has one notch carved into the the left grip. Deer maybe? He then starts pulling bullet molds out of the box. Some 1 cavity, some two, some four. Some with handles some without. All are Lyman and Ideal. The molds are:
Ideal double, 357446
Ideal single, 311008 .32.20 WCF mold ( and others)
Lyman single 575213. HB I think, 58 cal 510 gr
Lyman double 245496, 85gr. 243
Lyman 450229 313 HB 45 cal
Lyman 319 50
Lyman 311466
Lyman 35863 4 cavity 38 spec or 357 158 gr wadcutter
Lyman 35863 4cavity 38 spec or 357 158 gr wadcutter
Lyman 452460 4 cavity 45 cal 200 gr
He made me a great price on the whole shootin' match. Couldn't turn it down. I'll keep the revolver and 5 of the dies. I'll sell the others that I don't have guns for.

I traded into one of the new Ruger 1911s in the Commander lenght. Bought a couple Galco holsters for it too.
I took it out and shot 50 plus round with one failure to feed I blame the ammo for. I'm real happy with it even if it's not a S&W but one of their 1911s might be next.

Latest purchases...
A few months ago I found a good used 6" S&W 19-3 in a LGS. I took it home.
A few weeks ago I found a 6" 686-1 for sale. It came home with me.
I found a nice Lawrence holster that is ideal for my 625-2.
Today 5,000 CCI SP primers arrived! Amen! Now I can again handload for my .38 and .357 Magnum revolvers!
I was down to my last 150 .22 LR CCI Mini-Mags. Found three boxes of Winchester 333's for sale. Now at least I can keep shooting my little 18-3.

1st Colt
Friday I was sorely disappointed that my 627 did not come in, and in fact was still sitting in Fourguns in Layafaette IN. I made the mistake of stopping in at the best stocked gun shop in my area. I did not realize that I was looking for a quick fix.
A sale on all used guns, 20% off is all he had to say. What about a decent .22? The clerk took the time to show me the difference in lock up between any Colt and any Smith. He was right.
I put a very clean .22 cal Colt Officers Model on lay away. So what if it was an impulse purchase! I doubt if it will lose value and I can get rid off my two first try .22s. More room in the safe. And I will get much more pleasure with the Colt than an H&R 532.
And I get to look at another forum.
Joe

A couple of H&R M1's, they don't make them any more either so sometimes its a tough call between old rifles and old S&W's

My latest purchase is a Lyman Model of 1878 ( that's the date the Lyman founder invented the #2 sight) Commemorative. Its a copy of an 1877 Sharps. This one is a 45-70.

My last were a 28-2 and a Browning lever action 22.
If its not a Revolver it has to have a lever attached to it.
The wife only knows of the Browning.

NICE!
I'm looking very hard at the 2 building blocks too to build one. I have a Colt but, duh.... more is better.
My son completed his last fall, he had to wait about a year to get the bolt and carrier. His is in 6.8. Works good, he killed 3 deer this year.

Finally got my bullpup stock in and picked up a 10/22 to go in it. Target bull barrel and some Kidd accessories to go with it. Got the Burris 332 in November and grabbed the TRS-25 for myself for Xmas. Still unsure if I'm going to stick with the Burris on this or the TRS. Being a bullpup I'm thinking the TRS, which means I'll have to get another because the TRS originally was for a pistol project I've got. But I'm so happy with it that I'll probably be buying a couple more anyway.
Also got a no-gunsmith saddle mount for the girlfriends 870. A TRS-25 is also going on that.
Also picked up a LaserMax laser for the girlfriends Shield. It's the model designed for the Shield so it looks like it came from the factory with it. Still have to sight it in, but I had to come back to work. And I have to do the pink work to it still. Anyone that recognizes my screen name should recognize the pink "Tron" Shield.
And a pair of Barska 12-60x binoculars. They were on the cheaper side, but I figure I'd give them a shot. I must say though, I'm very impressed with them. Came with a tripod adapter and rubber covers for all four lenses. Pretty happy with them for the cost. Very clear, even at 60x.
