And here it is, ****** cellphone picture
All matching numbers, my FFL is also my range so I shot a couple of magazines through it once I looked it over. Flawless function with both PPU and Fiocchi. Pretty tight groups, too
I'm missing a grip screw, will need to hunt one down.

Went to a small gun show Saturday. Sure was not much to be had. Just before before leaving, I saw a box of stocks. Bought an aftermarket set of K frame target stocks. Also picked up a Bianchi J frame shroud grip. (R.B.) Thought my son would want it. He did not. I don't own a J. In the box w/others I guess. Anyway, sanded the wood stocks lightly, and sprayed them w/ semi gloss lacquer. Don't know which gun is going to sport them. Bob

Glock 17 Gen5 with the polymer Glock dot & bucket sights.
Every 5 to 6 weeks, my close friends who like to shoot and I get together. Range time turns a bit competitive. They added a stipulation to the 2018 year. For the competition targets, we all have to use the same model pistol, no modifications allowed other than backstraps.
I mouthed off in the Glock Gen5 thread that I wouldn't buy a Gen5 within its initial 12 up to 24 months from initial release. I'm competitive. I don't like sitting out and not participating in the friendly rivalry. I had to.

I experienced an irrationally exuberant desire for this 1925 Remington 17 full choke 28" barrel 20 gauge
It will join its younger cousin, from 1931:
I would very much appreciate someone explaining why I got either of these

Remington1100 12 gauge with 24" barrel and +3 mag extension.
At the same time I purchased a 10 gun safe to replace my storage rack. After having 4 rifles and 3 shotguns stolen from it in a burglary where the offenders used a screwdriver to pry the locking bar back slightly and lift the guns up and out I just don't trust it anymore, even though it's given me more than 20 years faithful service.
Also recently purchased are Winchester 1894 (pre angle eject) 30/30, Stainless/Wood Rossi Puma in 44/40 and a Norinco 1897 pump action 12 gauge.
All to replace those previously mentioned stolen firearms.

Been on a 22LR run as of late.
CZ 455 Precision Trainer. Should be nice for winter indoor practice when I am unable or unwilling to be outside.

Bought a blued 22LR Contender last week serial number 459xxx. Probably one of the last originals. This weekend picked up a super 14 223 barrel at a gun show. Now I'm on the hunt for optics.

Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accesories"
Went to a LGS and bought a Walther P1. Now I only have to wait 10 days to bring it home-California.

Been kinda bored and really not looking for much gun related. So just for the heck of it I got one of Palmetto's NB 'premium' bolt carrier groups for the wife's AR. Matches the stainless barrel.
Milspec Carpenter No. 158, Shot Peened Bolt, High pressure tested, Mag particle inspected, Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications, Gas Key Grade 8 Hardened Fasteners, Tool Steel Extractor... blah blah blah... whatever... but the the full auto carrier weighs a bit more and the rifle feels like it shoots a tad softer ejecting now about 3:30 instead of 2:30 with XM193. Nice. $89 delivered.
As cheap as ARs are getting today... I think I'm still under $1,000.
Palmetto upper $219 delivered
Palmetto lower $129 delivered
Palmetto BCG $89 delivered
Trijicon RMR $262 delivred
Timney 686S $170 delivered
Latac brake $99 delivered
Yup... $968.

Just picked up a barely used (claimed 4 months old & 100 rounds down the pipe...judging by the looks, I believe it) Beretta M9 yesterday, with 200 rounds of Speer Lawman 124 gr. TMJ, 100 rounds of WWB, and 137 rounds of Speer 124 gr. GDHP +P ammo. All for $500. I felt like I did okay.

I wanted a bolt action rifle to train my children with and have been looking for a little while. Went to a couple of stores, a gun show, etc. and let them try a variety of 22LR models out for size and comfort. We decided on the Ruger American Rimfire because of those factors plus some nice features. Multiple combs for different pull lengths and cheek heights for scope vs. no scope. Adjustable trigger pull. Fold down butterfly rear sight and front fiber optics sight. Removable bolt (really easy process) for safer storage. Sling swivels for learning to use a sling for stabilization.
I want them to slow down and focus more of the fundamentals. With the 10/22 we have they have this spray and pray approach that makes me crazy. With a bolt rifle I think we can focus on longer distance accuracy based on marksmanship fundamental. We decided on a Compact model with threaded barrel so that we can use our suppressor on it. An additional nice feature of the American Rimfire in 22LR is that it takes the same magazines as our 10/22.
I put in, what I thought was, a ridiculously low bid on GunBroker and to my surprise I won Picked it up from the FFL along with a nylon case and a 1 round 10/22 magazine. Very happy with it out of the box. I bought #12 Weaver bases and installed an inexpensive scope for rimfires as well as a sling tonight. The Williams fiber optic front and adjustable V slot folding leaf rear sight are nice but learning to use a scope properly is also a goal for my children's education.

While snooping around the lever action rifle section of my favorite LGS found a Winchester 94, way back in the corner behind some other rifles.
This one was made in 1918. Has the original saddle ring and original ladder sights, caliber 30WCF. About 40% bluing remaining. Bore nice and shiney, wood in real good condition with the usual nicks & scrapes for being 99 years old.
Also picked up a Combat Masterpiece w/holster . Probably 70-75% bluing remaining, pitting in bore towards muzzle. All numbers matching. This one was made in 1952

Been busy...
caved in and got a Shockwave from Brownells, when they dipped to $329 shipped. Don't really have a big use for it, but I figured when they dropped to around $300 I would get one. Had I waited another week, I could have gotten it $10 cheaper from PSA.
Found another CZ 27, this one is marked fnh, matching numbers on slide and frame, I THINK it's the blued one (it's a rough finish, hard to tell if it's parkerized or not). I'm in need of a safety release, if I can find one cheap.
Pics coming on those.
Finally, I FINALLY found a couple factory mags for the CZ99, so I ordered them.

Barry bought my Beretta 20 gauge over/under on the forum here which I have turned into a 36+6 Field & Stream safe, Smith 27–2 6 inch, and some nice leather from Lobo to carry the Smith. still waiting for the US mail to deliver my money order to the GunBroker seller in New York for the Smith. Hope to have the gun by next weekend, but I will be off hunting ducks. Of course the leather hopefully will be here by Christmas. Before the past 12 months started I was strictly a duck hunting shotgunner. But then my wife said she wanted to carry concealed. In the past year we have bought her an RM 380, a Smith 65–3 and Shield 9 for me, and the aforementioned N frame.

Just bought a Ruger MK IV tactical version as I need a suppressor host. I emailed Ruger first to confirm that the rails are indeed removable, cause rails annoy me.
Also got a Trijicon sight for my PS90.
I also got a tax stamp back a couple of weeks ago, in the process of building another SBS. Will post pics when done.

I laid away a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 Carbine today. I've wanted one for a while but they are scarce around here new or used. I found this one that if not for powder residue around the cylinder face it could pass for new. Came with box and papers.

I finished building my first contender. I bought a 357 maximum contender at a gun show recently and I was shocked how accurate it is. I knew I had to have another one.
I bought a 459xxx first gen my LGS had for a long time. It was a 22LR and I really just bought it for the frame. Then I snagged a 223 super 14 barrel at a gun show a few weekends ago and topped it off with a vintage gloss 4x leupold scope.
The forearm is for a rifle barrel, I was sent the wrong one so I just modified it to fit.

I had one of those with a 7X Burris EER scope and it was a shooter! I was at the range one day and another guy commented that my Contender was "really laying them in there" with 3/4" groups. I told him that was terrible for this gun since it had shot sub .375" before. He looked at me like it just told him I was from Jupiter.

This past weekend at the Big Reno Show was productive, despite the security debacle - attendees were wanded and they weren't allowed to bring guns to the show. That's said, I picked up the following:
3" 657 no dash (already flipped)
6" 17-6 (shown with its 4" brother)
Springfield M1A Scout Squad

My wife bought me an early Christmas present-a 16" .44 Magnum Rossi M92.

I just found this Model 317-3 .22 Airlite at a local gun store yesterday.

So far, I've shot it at home with Colibri's and it's extremely accurate. It came with a 2 1/2 pound single action, and 11 1/2 pound double action trigger. Whoever pawned this gun sure lost a gem!

New rosewood laminate grip for my 629 and some .44 Mag snap caps.
Before:
After:
Wood grips on stainless handguns are a moral imperative.

I would have loved to say that I had brought home a nice S&W 638, but I can't. My inspection of the 638 I ordered revealed a canted barrel. LGS is sending it back to the distributor. I wait another week.
I hope that this next one is properly assembled and final QC inspected by someone who actually cares about doing a good job.

I stuck a model 17 K-22 on layaway at the LGS. Its an early K prefix and dates to 1948 according to the SCSW. It's in fair condition, not a collector piece.
