Herrett's Coco Bola Python Grips (pics)
The price of Colt factory Python grips (like S&W wood) is getting expensive. I took the factory wood off my 1977 Python and stashed them away.
These are some Herrett's ones that now ride on my 4" Python. They feel much better than the factory wood as they are smaller in circumference around the butt end.
I think they look better as well. This might be my "Church Gun" in the morning.

Looks like a winning combination to me - good choice on the leather and the stocks.

Love the holster and the grips -- where did you order both? I have a Python I may need to dress up for church.

Tom Dyer at Saguaro Gunleather made the holster. Saguaro Gun Leather - Home
I sent him pics of his work with my guns each time I received leather from him. The holster with the Python is carrying a stag gripped S&W on his home page. The picture with the 1917 Colt below he put in his gallery.
I actually got the stocks just this week off Ebay new in the pack as a buy-it-now for $69.50 including shipping.
Thanks for the comments!
Tom Dyer has made me a couple of other holsters...here they are. I need to send him a pic of the black one with the 2.5" 19. I've carried it lots of days for several years and the leather dye is wearing some.
for 2.5" K-frame
for 2.5" N-frame and custom 2.5" 1917 Colt with S&W sights

Hey thanks, but your're right its a brand X just like a Ruger or a Rossi. Off topic but I think I better quickly post a pic of a real handgun to maintain my now slightly soiled reputation and seek redemption to some minute degree.

I just got a set of those stocks to go on a Trooper .357, that I got with Pachs on it. I like them too. The medallions are straighter on yours.

I've got limited trigger time with Pythons compared to Smiths, but never cared for the Python stocks at all. I think Your solution is the best one available.
All of my serious "shooter" Smith's wear Herretts Jordan Troopers. I have two sizes on file; one for K/N frames and a slightly larger set for hard kicking N frames.
I have several sets... Joni Lynn is still my HERO. I think almost ALL of her revolvers wear Jordans.

They look great. The early full-checkered factory grips fit my hand somewhat better than the later partially checkered ones. Neither are my first choice for extended shooting or magnum loads.
My Python has Coco-Bolo Hogues.

I like 'em too. CDNN had these with and without Colt Medallions until recently but they only show the non-medallion stocks now.

hope this helps
Here's a pic of the backside of the black holster with a 2.5" 19-2. Belt loop is positioned the same on the N frame holsters as well. The gun's cylinder is in the middle of the belt/loop area. The holstered gun lays snug against my side and is very secure...not going to fall out.
Sorry for the bad pic...just took it in the basement on top of the washing machine...but it should give you an idea.
The belt loop has a welt sewn under both the bottom and top edges. The belt is a 1.5" one from RafterS.

My Herretts Experience
I bought a set of Herrett's off eBay too...same price-same wood...mine came severely warped. For SOME reason, the seller omitted a photo of the bottom or frontstrap with the five or six other pics. As they were sent from my Bro' in North Carolina to Australia it was pretty impossible to return them.
I spent about six hours truing them up but losing about 3/16" width in the process so now the backstrap sticks out too much...I emailed the merchants (fatboys) and they said 'well you already screwed around with them etc what do you want US to do???" I only asked for another set at cost....a pretty reasonable ask as I am a retailer too- I'd lose no money and have a happy customer. Instead, they never replied... nice.
