Very little on Google when searching for "Ivory Grip Caps"

Anyone else think an ivory grip cap would be a nice way of personalizing a rifle?

I was very pleased with the ivory that came on a used stock I got for my Ithaca Model 37. I refinished the stock, added the bridge and trestle recoil pad, and stained the ivory with tea.

I like the way Weatherby did it...they had a rosewood cap with a diamond shaped ivory inlay in the middle. I personally am not too crazy about the big white entire bo-honkin' cap on the gun but then I haven't really seen too many of them either. It might grow on me and it might look really good on the right rifle. Never seen one on an Ithaca...I have a 37 20 ga with the same "sunrise" pad.

This pad came from Galazan and was nicely fitted by "Tron" from Trapshooters.com.

I too thought the bright white was a bit too gawdy for the 37.

The rifle I want to personalize is a Kimber 84M:



Nice thing about grip caps is I can always go back to the original metal cap.

I have seen buffalo horn, in sort of a sharp, wedge shape, inlaid into the wood where the grip cap goes on pistol-gripped Winchesters. Looks nice, tasteful, I think.
