I know this is a Smith Forum but my uncle passed a few years back and my Aunt is gonna sell me his Ruger 10/22 for $150. This thing looks like its never been fired. The only thing is she don't know where the factory Magazines are. I was looking to purchase maybe a 10rnd factory mag and a 25rnd mag for it. Is there a certain brand mag any of you would suggest for the 25rnd? Is there a certain brand that works best kinda like the P-Mag does with our AR-15's?

Hopefully the Ruger 25 works as well as the Ruger 10 (EVERY TIME without fail).
I've never had a 25 round mag that wasn't a jam-o-matic in my 10-22 - So I now have 4 spare Ruger 10 round mags - Work great - Last a long time :)

I'd like to hear how the Ruger 25s hold up, but the 10s fit flush so I guess I'll stick with them anyway.

Where is the cheapest place to get just the factory Ruger 10 round mag?

The BX-25 is the 25 round Ruger mag and it works flawlessly...:D

So well that I bought 4 of them ! Updated mine with the auto bolt release and the extended mag release and a Red Dot sight....

Those boxes of 550 value paks don't seem to last quite as long now..

Tried the Ruger 25rd mags... worked in one of my rifles but not the rest. Went back to nothing but the factory 10rd mags.

Many WalMarts sell the factory 10 rd magazine. If one is all you want, it is cheaper to buy locally and not pay shipping.

+1 on the Ruger 25 round mags. They work flawlessly. I bought mine local for like $20.00.

You can also get an adapter that you can fit three 10 round mags into a sort of Y shape. It works very well, doesn't look cool though.

IMHO, just buy Ruger!!! I have tried others. Won't go back. Since coming out with the BX-25. Ruger has not been able to keep up with demand. I have had three on back order for the last month. A buddy of mind has five of them. Been letting use two of his for the past several weeks. Looks and works great.

IMHO: Ruger started making these 25 round mags, because they saw the market, and saw everybody complain about the aftermarket junk.

Aftermarket prices are falling. Local store selling "hot lips" for $8.00 OTD.

The Ruger 25 round mag is so good, that others will stop making them?

I've had perfect function with every BX-25 Ruger magazine I've bought. The only way they could be improved would be if there was a clear panel in them, or they were free.

I'll never go back to the others.
Try a couple and see how you like them.

All my older RamLine stuff crapped out on me, and so did their reloader tool.

The Butler Creek units didn't work for me.

Currently I've loading about 1000 rounds with the "Champion" in a clutch of the BX-25 mags. No complaints, no fail to function. Looks funny, but seem to work.

Starting to burn through some of those old 22s that's been laying about so long.....

I have had very good use out of my Ruger BX-25, no magazine problems at all.

BUT, the very best high capacity 10/22 magazine is the Tactical Innovations TI25. Like any quality product it's more expensive than the cheap competitors, but this is not a disposable magazine like the RamLine's and Hot Lips. If you want one to last a lifetime, this one is it.
