Elmer Keith blows up a Colt
A friend dropped by yesterday and pointed out one of Elmer's earliest articles, published in a 1925 issue of American Rifleman. He reports on his experimentation with heavy loads, and sends the pieces of his gun in for analysis (no, we no longer offer this service).
I thought ya'll might enjoy some exerpts, so I put em on our NRA National Firearms Museum Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/NRAmuseum

Funny THANKS and the best part that was one I never heard of before.
I have a couple of EKs books and without a doubt he was a character.
The biggest character (though for other reasons) Was Colonel Charles Askins. A lot of his stuff could have been on Ripleys believe it or not!

Thanks. I'll be sure to read the article.
I really like the NRA posts on FB. I "share" many of the posts to my profile.
I believe it is a great way to get the message out.

I appreciate the shares! And if folks will "Like" the museum facebook page, they'll get our postings on their feeds. We try not to overwhelm with too many, and we try to have at least 1 interesting "Gun of the Day" each day.

I enjoy the posts Jim, and I'd much prefer to see the ones from the museum than the spam I get from some of my so called friends!
