What!? Not one Official Police among them?
But it's my favorite.
Edit. Come to think of it. No SAA either. The OP is only my favorite Double Action from Colt.

I'm a S&W guy at heart, but those are some nice Colt revolvers! I've only owned a couple DA Colts, and once bought a new SAA with both LC and ACP cylinders.
Only have one Colt revolver now, an old 3 5 7 model. If I take any revolvers to the range though, the Colt is usually one of them.

I can understand a guy saying that they(Colts)don't fit his(or her)hand. But still,he will have to admit that they are beautiful. If he doesn't,he better wear an antiflak suit for what's coming up to him and I bet not only from me!

Colt sure did make some handsome revolvers! I admit, I have a soft spot for Pythons, Trooper MK V, and Diamondbacks. There is something about that ventilated rib atop the barrel that, to my eyes, is beautiful. I think the ventilated rib is also functional for scope mounting and it does a better job of dissipating heat and reducing shimmer along the sight plane when the barrel gets hot.

Real treat seeing some great Colts. As much as I admire the Python the Single Action Army remains my favorite. Real treasures here and thanks for the mouth watering pics!!

Beautiful guns guys. I just have one. It’s old and pretty rough but I wanted to be able to say I owned a Colt. I don’t have any pictures of the revolver but it has this neat logo on it.

I've owned several Colt's over the years, including a 4" blue Python from 1964. They all got sold/traded for something else when gun trading was more like a hobby for me.
Today the only ones I have are "new" ones. A Cobra 38 from 2019, and a Python from 2020. I'd like to have another 4" Python, but I'm starting to doubt it'll happen now.
I especially enjoy shooting the Python. A very nice gun.

I'm a S&W guy , have quite a few but there is a soft spot in my heart for Colt . I only have one , an OM Trooper in 357 , 4" barrel . I looked for yrs to find one that I thought was a great deal . I have no intention of ever selling it . I would love to have more , an SAA would be nice but not at the prices they are bringing . Understand I'm not jealous of those that have the Colt SAA , Python etc . For me it makes it more challenging to find a Colt that I can afford . It's the " hunt " I guess . Regards, Paul

Those 2020 Pythons still may bring me to "Pythonland". If they ever appear this side of the pond.

Some very nice colts you guys have accumulated. Very nice looking guns so far. I have a few that have yet to be included into this thread. A couple Officers model targets (OMT's) 1 in .38 and 1 in .22 lr. A new service in 38 spcl. And just have to include my minty 1949 police positive special. Lastly a 1914 Colt Army Special. Enjoy

I was (indirectly)reminded I also have these.
They were already shown in this forum. But since this is a Colt thread...
Edit. Woopsie. Got carried away. It said Colt revolvers.

I don't have many and might sell off the two .38s soon. But for now I have:
1926 PPS .38 Special
1930 Detective Special (not well refinished...newer barrel...GB mistake!)
1933 OMT .22LR (very well refinished by The Custom Shop)

Those are fine looking Colt pistols. We have three Colt revolvers here.
We also have a Gold Cup Trophy and another 1911 in .38 Super as well as an AR carbine.

My only Colt revolver. A 1956 Official Police 4" which I purchased at a local auction 5 years ago for a bid of $350! The pictures don't do it justice. Great bluing. Excellent shooter. The S&W Model 10 does fit my hand better as the Colt OP grips are slimmer.
When I saw it listed in an estate auction I knew I had to have at least one Colt revolver and knew it was a high quality piece when I inspected pre auction. Appeared to have set in a drawer for many years and likely civilian owned.

Beautiful revolvers all. For some reason, I've always craved a Diamondback more than a Python. One each in .38 and .22, please...

My fathers Colt Frontier Scout in 22 mag. He bought it from Montgomery Wards Dept Store about 55 years ago when I was hardly big enough to see over the counter.

I'm an old cop and love DAO revolvers. A DAO revolver with a night sight and six beans in the wheel, is a powerful temptation to me. Couldn't help it a Colt Night Cobra, it has become an EDC

My first service revolver was a Colt OP, first off duty gun was a Cobra (still have it) and a Colt DS saved me in a 1974 gunfight w/armed robbery suspects.

I have replicas of the 1860 Army Colt, the 4.75" Peacemaker, and the
Cavalry 7.5" model, but only have one real Colt.
Shown below left is my Colt's Agent. 2nd from left it's shown reclining
in a gator trimmed pancake by KD.
As Bronco45 said, and I agree, I like DAO for my carry gun, so I had the
hammer bobbed and the SA notch removed.
The stocks are extended boots by Craig Spegel.

I kinda went a little overboard on Official Police revolvers some years ago.
A .22 Trooper.
Colt 357 model with a Colt shoulder holster.
.32 Police Positive.
Officers Model
A factory redone New Service.
The Big Gorilla hisself sold me that Myres holster for it.
.32 Officers Model with Sanderson grips and a Roper front sight. The holster was the one shipped with the Massachusetts (National Guard ? State Police ?) .32 OM order.
Regards,
turnerriver

Great collection. I especially like seeing the nickel OP. When I went through LEO Basic in 1976 we had a very large recruit class. We were issued S&W nickle model 10s except one who was issued a nickel Colt Op. I think the department had to dig into the armory to find him an older sidearm until they got him a new S&W.

There are a few Colts lurking around these parts...
A Pocket Positive in .32 New Police from 1938.
A Police Positive in .32 New Police from 1923.
An Officer's Model, First Issue, from 1906 in 38 Special.

Here is one of the earliest Colt DA with swing out cylinders.
It is a Colt Model 1892 New Army Model revolver. The 1892 on the grip panel is the MODEL designation not the date of manufacture. This gun is the 210th gun manufactured.(serial number 10210, shipped 1893) Serial numbers on the New Army Model of 1892 civilian guns started at 10001 and went to about 15xxx.... around 5000 guns. It is an early variation with correct 1888 barrel patent date and no model 1894 cylinder latch upgrades which came in about serial number 12xxx.
Note that this example has avoided all of the retrofitted updates that Colt applied to later models of the New Army Double Action

As I mentioned in post #30 above, I only have the one Colt's Agent.
I keep all my real guns in a walk in vault. I also mentioned that I have
a few Colt's imposters, or replicas if you prefer. Here they are, Left to
Right:
1860 Army Colt with Cavalry holster and accessories.
1873 Colt's Cavalry model with 7.5" barrel, and old Eubanks holster.
Colt's Peacemaker 4.75" barrel didn't come along until 1879. Shown
with Red Nichol's #1 prototype of Tom Threeperson's personal holster.
4th from left is wall decor in my office.
Far right is a Kentucky flintlock replica.
Oh By The Way, I do have a series 80 Gold Cup National Match,
but last time I checked it was not a revolver.

You cannot go overboard with the Official Police(and I only have one ).
It is, for me, the best Double Action Colt revolver ever.

Your collection of Colt revolvers is AWESOME!!!!, the Official Police might be the best double action revolver but in Colt´s brand i preferr the Officers Model Match 6" in .38 Special and the Diamondback .38 Special 4" barrel, by the way the Colt Trooper MkI or MkII with the Super Vel are AWESOME an gun and ammo of the 1967 (FBI carried this weapon) Thanks for sharing your pictures
